Do you think guns should be illegal in the United States and why?
Give two reasons why.

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: No, guns should be legal in the United States.

Banning guns doesn't work. Hitler banned guns, Zedong banned guns, and guess what? They killed millions and millions of people after they banned them. How are WE suppose to stand up for ourselves if guns are banned? Most people feel safe with a gun. Guns are not the problem, it's the person using them the incorrect way. The best thing to do nowadays is to teach everybody to use a gun the CORRECT WAY. Not to shoot humans, dogs/cats.

Banning guns will not stop crimes, or stop people from hurting each other. There are knives, swords, etc.
Answer 2
Answer: I think that banning guns would make the US safer because then the criminals would have to turn them in and the gangsters would have nothing to shoot each other with. I also think that there should be security cameras and full body scanners everywhere in public places to prevent mass shootings. I think that only the police and the president and the secret service should be allowed to have guns because they work for the government and the government would never abuse it's power.

all of the above.  addressing counterarguments, clearly stating your position on a topic, and providing evidence are all key components of a persuasive essay.

Final answer:

In persuasive writing, anticipating and addressing counterarguments, clearly stating your position, and supplying facts and examples to back your position are all critical steps in creating a compelling and credible argument.

Explanation:

In persuasive writing, it is indeed very important to anticipate and address counterarguments, clearly state your position, provide facts, and use examples to back up your position. All these strategies are essential in creating a compelling and effective argument.

When you clearly state your position, you set the direction for your argument, giving your readers an understanding of where your argument is headed. This is typically done in a thesis statement that presents your stance on a given issue.

Anticipating and addressing counterarguments means, you're considering other perspectives that differ from yours. By doing that, you not only demonstrate fairness but also strengthen your own position by refuting those counterarguments with logical reasoning and supporting evidence.

Providing facts and examples to back up your position is crucial in lending credibility to your argument. By doing so, you effectively support your claims and convince your audience through fact-based evidence and real-world examples.
