B.

C.

D.

Answers

President Wilson's statement "The world must be made safe for democracy" was made to justify his decision to askCongress to declare war against Germany. Hence, Option (D) is correct.

The statement was part of President Wilson's speech to Congress on April 2, 1917, where he outlined the reasons for the United States' entry into World War I. Wilson argued that the war was not just a conflict between nations, but a clash between different political ideologies and principles.

By emphasizing the importance of making the world safe for democracy, Wilson aimed to rally public support and justify the United States' involvement in the war. He believed that a victory for democratic nations over the autocratic Central Powers, led by Germany, would secure and promote democratic values globally.

Consequently, Wilson requested Congress to declare war on Germany on April 6, 1917. The United States' entry into World War I was motivated by Wilson's conviction that it was necessary to defend and spread democracy, aligning with the statement he made to justify his decision.

Thus, President Wilson's statement and speech were to rally both Congress and the common people for a declaration of war on Germany.

Where do the majority of cases heard by the Supreme Court originate? A. ambassadors to the US and federal district courts B. federal district courts and Congress C. Congress and the states’ highest courts D. federal district courts and the states’ highest courts Please select the best answer from the choices provided A B C D

Answers

The majority of cases heard by the Supreme Court originated in federal district courts and the state’s highest courts. Thus, option D is correct.

The federal court system is divided into three primary levels: district courts, which serve as the trial court, circuit courts, which serve as the first level of appeal, and the Supreme Court of the United States, which serves as the system's last level of appeal. In the entire nation, there is one Supreme Court, 94 district courts, 13 circuit courts, and more.

There are several ways in which federal courts operate differently from state courts. The categories of cases that can be handled in the federal system are the main distinction for civil matters (as opposed to criminal trials). Federal courts only hear matters that are permitted by the United States Constitution or federal legislation, making them tribunals with a narrow scope of jurisdiction. Any case emerging must first be filed in the federal district court.
