Explain how your knowledge of place value helps you divide a number in the thousands by whole numbers to 10. Give an example to support your explanation. Please help, I will appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why doesn't anybody help me??????????? ????????????????????????????????????? ????????
Please, I have been waiting for 7 hours, the website brainly is wrong it says " just now".

Place value is the value each digit has in its position: in order from higher to lower value, there is thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones.
When you divide by 10, you are moving (only once) every digit from its present place value to the right.
For example 6430 : 10= 643, you have moved every digit to the right, making the zero disappear (or better yet, separated by a hidden and in this case useless comma).

Please explain how to slove thank you.

The average rate of change of on the interval [a,b] is:

 f(b)−f(a)/ b-a
or
y1-y2/x1-x2 which is how I learned it, average ratw of change is just slope

so you would plug your numbers into x

1st the b: 6((1))^2+31((1))-12
=6+31-12 1^2=1, so it cancels
f(b) =25

2nd the a: 6((-2))^2+31((-2))-12
=6(4)+31(-2)-12
=24+-62-12
f(a) =-50

3rd plug them in: (25- -50)÷(1-(-2)
=75÷3
=25

so your average rate of change(or slope) is 25 :)

The amount of eye makeup Leah wears is 5/8 of the amount of eye makeup Tanya wears. What is the ratio of the amount of eye makeup Leah wears to the amount of eye makeup Tanya wears?

Answers

Leah wears less makeup than Tanya which is why the ratio of the makeup she wears to Tanya is 0.625 : 1.

In finding the ratio of the amount of eye makeup Leah wears to the one that Tanya wears, you have to first assume that Tanya wears 1 unit of makeup.

Leah wears 5/8 of this amount which means that Leah wears 5/8 makeup.

The ratio will be:

Amount of makeup Leah wears         :         Amount Tanya wears

5/8                                                        :                  1

0.625                                                    :                1

In conclusion, the ratio of makeup won by Leah to that won by Tanya is 0.625 : 1.

If Tanya wore 1 tub of makeup, Leah would wear 5/8 of a tub of makeup, so:

LEAH vs TANYA:

5/8 : 1

multiply both sides by 8 to get rid of fractions:

Mr. Carter is planning a special event for 98 guests. A catering company tells him that the cost of food for each guest will be $16. The cost for drinks for each guest will be another $5. Based on that, Mr. Carter works out that the total catering bill will be $20,580. Does that sound about right?

Answers

Answer: No, the correct answer is $2058.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you should multiply 16 by 98. This will get you 1568. Then, you multiply 5 by 98, which will get you 490. Once you have these two numbers, you add them together, which gets you the total cost of $2058.

Hope this helped!
