Answer 1
Answer:

The correct way to cite a dictionary entry according to MLA style is:

D. "Noon." The Oxford English Dictionary. 2nd ed. 1989. Print.

When citing a dictionary entry, the writer should include the author's name (if available), the entry title, the title of the dictionary (in italics,) the publication and the source (either print or the URL used, if it was accessed online.)

Pay attention: the options provided in the question lack italics. I took the liberty to add the italic font to the correct option.

Answer 2
Answer: I know it's not B or C, and I know you don't put the year before the number of the year, like it is in A, so I would have to go with D.

Paragraph on 'your experience for an adventure camping trip with your classmates' (any experience)

Answers

Not a long time ago my classmates and I decided to go for a hiking / camping trip to the nearest lake, about 6 miles away from our home. It was a warm summer night and we decided to have a night swim in the lake, then make a bonfire and eat marshmallows, when we heard a strange sound coming from the bushes. I have to admit, all of us were very afraid and the boys didn't even look after the girls, instead we all ran to the tents looking for some sort of "weapon" to defend ourselves. In almost the same second we realized that all of our stuff was gone - our clothes and the backpacks we had filled with food and useful items. Of course, in the end we realized that one person from the group decided to prank us - one boy didn't get in the lake and we didn't even notice! Yes, we forgave him, but he had to pay for all the after-bite products the next day, since each of us had been bitten by a mosquito at least 30 times.

Hope this helps :)

Are the underlined words in the sentence an independent clause, a subordinate clause, or neither? My cousin visited me last weekend, and we talked until about two o’clock in the morning.

A.
subordinate clause

B.
independent clause

C.
neither

Answers

Since there are no words with underline, let me answer this question this way. There are two independent clauses in the sentence provided above: "My cousin visited me last weekend", and "we talked until about two o’clock in the morning." Therefore, the answer should be B. independent clause.

What is the first step in the research process?

Answers

Answer:

Identify and develop your topic

Explanation:

The first step to take when researching a subject is to decide the topic that you will research. It is important to identify and develop your topic, as this will allow you to guide your research, and to know which sources might be useful for the project. Moreover, when your topic is identified, you will be able to develop your main ideas as well as the questions that your reserach will try to answer.

The first step in the research process is defining the topic or question.

The first step in the research process is to define the topic or question that you want to investigate. This involves selecting a specific area of interest and formulating a clear and focused research question.

For example, if you were researching the effects of pollution on the environment, your research question could be 'What are the long-term effects of pollution on local water sources?' By defining your topic and research question, you provide a framework for your research and guide your subsequent steps.

How Things Work

By Gary Soto

Today it's going to cost us twenty dollars
To live. Five for a softball. Four for a book,
A handful of ones for coffee and two sweet rolls,
Bus fare, rosin for your mother's violin.
We're completing our task. The tip I left
For the waitress filters down
Like rain, wetting the new roots of a child
Perhaps, a belligerent cat that won't let go
Of a balled sock until there's chicken to eat.
As far as I can tell, daughter, it works like this:
You buy bread from a grocery, a bag of apples
From a fruit stand, and what coins
Are passed on helps others buy pencils, glue,
Tickets to a movie in which laughter
Is thrown into their faces.
If we buy goldfish, someone tries on a hat.
If we buy crayons, someone walks home with a broom.
A tip. a small purchase here and there,
And things just keep going. I guess.

I understand that this poem is about money, it is about how this person is about giving. This person wants to be cheap, but also give to other people in the process. The way he talked about the stuff they needed it sounded like he was talking to someone, maybe his son or daughter, teaching them about giving. Hope this helped!
