During World war 2 why did japan strongly and passionately defend Iwo Jima

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

Japan defended Iwo Jima in such a strongly and passionate way because it was considered part of Japanese homeland.

Explanation:

The Battle of Iwo Jima took place between February 19 and March 26, 1945, on the Japanese island of Iwo-jima. The extremely bloody battle was the second last major battle of the Pacific Front of World War II.

The Allied forces had, since the spring of 1943, gradually fought their way through the Pacific island world and approaching the Japanese main islands, being Iwo Jima the first of these. In the beginning of 1945 Japan was basically defeated, but there were still no thoughts of capitulation by the military. The Japanese forces defending the island were led by General Tadamichi Kuribayashi and he had about 21,000 men at his disposal.

The United States lost thousands of people killed and wounded. In the long run, however, the Japanese forces could not resist the American superiority in manpower and equipment.

The Japanese fought heroically as the samurai tradition banned capitulation even in hopeless situations. About two hundred Japanese survived out of the 22,000 garrison. The number of American soldiers killed was just over 7,000 and 20,000 wounded.

What was the premise of the organization man

Answers

The premise of The Organization of Man is that conformity to bureaucratic norms could make workers incapable of independent thought. This means that Americans became comfortable being part of big and booming companies instead of living as creative individuals.

Final answer:

The Organization Man, written by William H. Whyte, describes the rise of corporate power and the emergence of a new class of workers, referred to as 'Organization Man'. These workers based decisions on collective consensus rather than personal initiative, revealing a societal shift towards corporate-focused thinking.

Explanation:

The premise of The Organization Man is a sociological book written by William H. Whyte in 1956. It examines the increasing power of large corporations over society and the rise of a new class of workers: salaried professionals who did not own their businesses but rather worked for a corporation. The Organization Man represents a person who makes decisions based on collective consensus rather than individual initiative, driven more by the organization's needs and goals than personal ambition. This concept suggests a shift from a society of individuals to a community of team players with a common objective, reflecting the dominance of corporations in post-World War II America.
