What is the effect of growth hormone on metabolism? Pay special attention to its effect on protein, bone, fatty tissue, and carbohydrates.

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Growth hormone is produced by the pituitary gland, a small gland like a bean, located in the lower part of the brain. As the name says, this hormone is absolutely essential for providing physical growth. However, this hormone also has an influence on the body's metabolism.

It was already known that GH is linked to bone development and height increase and is found in large quantities in muscles, liver, tissues and organs directly involved in growth metabolism. After some scientific studies and experiments, it was discovered that the brain is also full of receptors for this hormone.

Previously, leptin was believed to be the main hormone to work to conserve energy in cases of dietary limitations. When there is weight loss, circulating leptin levels in the bloodstream fall. Leptin is a hormone produced by the body's cells that store fat. When leptin levels start to lose fat, the levels drop a lot and the brain feels this drop and activates the hunger and energy saving mechanisms.

In each trial, you will add an indicator to themystery food sample. But you will also add the

indicator to a known substance and water. Why is

that important? Check all reasons.

Answers

Answer:

The correct answer is -

- to match the mystery food sample to a definite positive result (gelatin, oil.)

- to match the mystery food sample to a definite negative result (water)

Explanation:

Adding an indicator or any indicator to an unknown food sample or any sample and then adding the same indicator to the known sample is necessary to check and confirm the positive result and negative result that will help to match with the experiment result.

For positive result adding an indicator to get a definite positive result to mystery food for example gelatin or oil. Similarly for a definite negative result adding it to known food or water.

What would happen if the membrane did not allow water or solute particals to pass through it

Answers

If the cell membrane does not allow the water or solute particles to pass through it then the cell will be deficient in those particles which could even lead to the deathof cell.

What is Cell membrane?

The animal cell has an outermost covering which is known as the cell membrane or the plasma membrane. It is selectively permeable in nature. It only allows some solute particles to move across it. The cell membrane does not allow all the particles to move across it, as a result the restricted particles requires a protein or ligand through which it can cross the membrane.

Cell membrane is made up of phospholipids and membrane proteins. Their is a lipid-bilayer in which some proteins are embedded are known as integrated proteins and some are present on the membrane. Cell membrane is present in all types of cells, however a cell wall is also present in plants outside the cell membrane.

the ozone layer help insulate earth :.................

Answers

TRUE

The atmosphere is composed of five major layers. These layers are, in order from the surface of the earth, troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, ionosphere, and exosphere.

troposphere - lowest layer that provides majority of our weather. contains four-fifths of air on the earth and extends to a maximum height of 11 miles at the equator and lesser height at the poles.

stratosphere - extends to the height of 30 miles from the equator and it's the location of the ozone layer.

mesosphere - extends to the height of 52 miles from the equator and is where meteors generally burn up

ionosphere - extends to the height of 430 miles from the equator and is already considered as part of the outer space. It is where satellites orbit around the world.

exosphere - extends to the height range of 620 miles to 6,214 miles from the Earth's surface and merges with interplanetary space
Its like a big blanket and it protects the earth from the sun's radiation so I would say true
