The conflict between the right-handed brother and left-handed brother described in "The World on Turtle's Back" shows that the Iroquois most likely believe that there is an eternal battle between good and evil.

Further Explanation:

In the Iroquois myth “The World on Turtle's Back," introduces us to two twins; right-handed twin, which was born from his mother and left-handed twin, which was born from his mother’s armpit that killed their mother. From birth, the twins had major differences. The right-handed twin was noble and always did what was told. On the other hand, the left-handed twin was trouble and destructive. Yet, the bad twin was favored. As they grew up,  the right-handed twin made the deer and the left-handed twin created the mountain lion who kills the deer. They made these animals and the other twin always wanted to kill the other's creation, they went on so on and so forth.

The right-handed twin involves the left-handed twin of killing their mother, hence depicting good and evil. But, the right-handed twin ultimately becomes angry and resentful of the left-handed twin. The good was overcome by jealousy and ambition and killed the bad twin which accepted his fate with humbleness. Even though the good twin never did anything wrong his inner evil was reviled and the evil twin felt regret and for the first time, did the appropriate thing. As a consequence, the author believe that human nature possesses two different sides. They most likely think that there is a never-ending clash between good and evil, as portrayed by the left-handed and right-handed brother.

Like the yin and yang symbol from ancient Chinese philosophy the twins represented good and evil, but deep within each had evil and each had good. In conclusion, the world is never what it seems to be, the good is not always good and the bad are not always bad because within every human being there is always going to be something to direct them in both ways.
