Worth 100 POINTSWhat is Revolution and why was the war during the 1770s and 1780s called the American Revolutionary War? Give at least 5 specific examples. This should be 3-5 Paragraphs in length.

Answers

Definition of Revolution (mention that revolutions are usually fought in order to gain freedom and peace. 2-3 sentences). Throughout history, there were many revolutions. From 1775 to 1783, there was a conflict between Great Britain and the 13 North American Colonies known as the American Revolutionary War.

Originally called the American War of Independence, the American Revolutionary War started in April 1775, when British soldiers exchanged gunfire at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts, where many colonists were killed. Described as "the shot heard round the world," it signaled the start of the American Revolution. The colonist were already upset at Great Britain because of the increases in taxes and laws. The colonists wanted there freedom, so in April 19, 1775, the war began.

The reason why the war during the 1770s and 1780s is called the American Revolutionary War is simple. The 13 colonists, later to be known as Americans, sought for their freedom, and rebelled against Britain. They fought back, wanting a revolution in order to make this newly known land (North America) their own. They wanted to govern it without being withheld by Great Brtain. They created the Declaration of Independce and the Bill of Rights because they wanted that, hence the name: the American Revolutionary War.

C. A storm surge caused water from Lake Pontchartrain to breech the cities levees.

D. Oil from flooded refineries added toxic sludge to the storm water that covered much of the city.

Explanation:

Hurricane Katrina was one of the most destructive and the most deadly in the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season. On August 23, 2005, Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas and crossed south Florida as a hurricane. of moderate category 1, causing some deaths and floods before strengthening rapidly in the Gulf of Mexico. After reaching Category 5, the storm weakened before making landfall for the second time as a category 3 hurricane on August 29 in southeastern Louisiana. Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast from Florida to Texas due to its intensification. The highest number of deaths occurred in New Orleans, which was flooded because its levee system collapsed, many of them collapsing several hours after the hurricane had continued inland. 80% of the city as well as large areas of adjoining parishes were flooded, thus staying for weeks. However, the most important material damages occurred in coastal areas, such as flooding in a matter of hours of all the coastal cities of Mississippi, the dragging of numerous ships and floating casinos to the mainland, which caused their collision with buildings, reaching the waves distances from 10 to 19 km from the coast.

C. A storm surge caused water from Lake Pontchartrain to breech the cities levees.

D. Oil from flooded refineries added toxic sludge to the storm water that covered much of the city.
