What is your opinion on Mormon Churches making it illegal to have same-sex parents and get baptized?

Answers

this is a controversial topic but in my opinion, churches should have standards. if they don't believe something is right and they have good reasoning behind it, then they shouldn't accept it. we hear a lot about churches changing their rules to appeal to the majority of the people, but that isn't how it should be. i'm guessing you meant to put children after the parents, and if so, i think that's there because if they really believed in the Mormon religion, and they wanted their child to be baptized into it, then they would sacrifice their relationship for the child. I'm not really familiar with this kind of stuff but this is just my two cents.
In my opinion, that isn't right. It isn't like the kids get to choose their parents' sexual orientation. Everyone should be able to get baptized.

Why were Big Brothers and Big Sisters founded?

Answers

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) was founded with the mission of providing mentorship and support to young people, particularly those facing adversity and challenges in their lives.

The organization was established to address the needs of at-risk youth and to create positive, enduring relationships with caring adult mentors.

The specific reasons for founding Big Brothers Big Sisters can be traced back to two separate organizations:

1. Big Brothers: The Big Brothers movement originated in 1904 when a young New York City court clerk named Ernest Coulter observed the struggles of young boys who appeared before him in court. Coulter believed that these boys needed positive role models and guidance to lead them away from delinquent behaviors. He started matching adult volunteers with fatherless boys, offering them friendship, support, and guidance.

2. Big Sisters: The Big Sisters movement emerged in 1912, inspired by the success of the Big Brothers program. A group of women in New York City recognized that young girls also faced challenges and could benefit from positive female role models. They began providing mentorship and support to girls in need.

The two organizations, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, grew separately over the years, each focusing on providing mentoring relationships for young people. In 1977, they officially merged to become Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, combining their efforts to support both boys and girls facing adversity.

Today, Big Brothers Big Sisters is one of the largest and most well-known youth mentoring organizations in the United States and around the world. The organization's mentoring programs aim to improve the lives of young people by fostering positive relationships, encouraging personal growth, and empowering them to reach their potential. The foundation of BBBS is based on the belief that a caring mentor can make a significant and lasting impact on a young person's life, helping them overcome challenges and thrive in various aspects of life.
