In the story “The Scarlet Ibis” What mood does the foreshadowing create?!!!!PLS HURRY I NEED IT ASAP p

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

There are 3 foreshadows. Each one is progressively worse than the one before it.

  1. When the older brother actually does leave. That seems both harmless and natural enough. Older brothers leave all the time.
  2. When Aunt Nicey says read birds dying is bad luck. This is much more serious. Her pronouncement could be superstition (of course it is), but it is serious. Does a dead red bird foreshadow anything or not?
  3. The last one is the death of the Scarlet Ibis. Can we ignore that. Likely not. The Scarlet Ibis = Doodle

December 19, 1777, FridayI woke to sleet hitting the window and another sound I'd not heard before. A drumbeat. Papa came in from milking and said, "The
soldiers are coming."
Finally, through the gray, we saw them. Three officers on horseback Wer outside to cheer, but the men were quiet and thin.
The sight of them took my breath away.
"They have no shoes," Elizabeth whispered.
We watched for several minutes as they passed by. We were unable to speak. Their footprints left blood in the snow. As I write
this upstairs, my candle low and our room cold, I think I shall never again complain.

Is sentence 'James while John had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect on the teacher' grammatically correct?

Answers

Yes, it certainly can be when it's properly punctuated.

The statement looks back on a day last week, when the teacher was grading
essays written by James and John.  It tells of one particular sentence in the
essays, almost identically worded in both essays, except for one word difference.

James ... while John had had "had" ... had had "had had".  "Had had" had had
a better effect on their teacher.
