Answer 1
Answer: How does Mark Twain use humor to present serious ideas? What does this reveal about Twain as a person? Humor was a tool that Twain could use. This humor strengthened what he saw as a major problem. Mark Twain used his humor to empathize his point of an issue. Doing this made all of the serious situations not as serious as they really are. Knowing this about Mark Twain you can tell he is a empathetic, humors, and serious type of person.

Which parts of this excerpt from Stephen Crane's "The Open Boat" describe the narrator's opinion of the sea as a hostile entity?A singular disadvantage of the sea lies in the fact that after successfully surmounting one wave you discover that there is another behind it just as important and just as nervously anxious to do something effective in the way of swamping boats. In a ten-foot dinghy one can get an idea of the resources of the sea in the line of waves that is not probable to the average experience, which is never at sea in a dinghy. As each slaty wall of water approached, it shut all else from the view of the men in the boat, and it was not difficult to imagine that this particular wave was the final outburst of the ocean, the last effort of the grim water.***One or more answers accepted*****A) after successfully surmounting one waveB) there is another behind it just as important and just as nervously anxious to do something effectiveC) the resources of the sea in the line of waves D) it shut all else from the view of the menE) this particular wave was the final outburst of the ocean,F) the last effort of the grim water.

Which best describes the relationship between Caesar and Brutus? A.They were friends, but Brutus was also one of Caesar's biggest critics.

B.They were enemies, though Brutus was married to Caesar's sister.

C.They were half-brothers, though the elder Brutus served as a father figure to Caesar.

D.They never knew one another personally, but they shared a mutual respect.

Answers

I would say A, They were friends, but Brutus was also one of Caesar's biggest critics, however, i feel none of the answers quite fit the question. Brutus was a friend to Caesar, but because of jealousy and fear of how Caesar would act under the power of Rome, decided he would rather kill him than find out, this goes to show that Brutus, although a friend, was not a true friend and did not understand loyalty, like Mark Antony did for example. Hope this helped! Have a good day!
i would say that A is the answer but i am not sure.
