A thesaurus is primarily used to look up synonyms.
A thesaurus is a dictionary which is special in that it only lists synonyms of words. A synonym is a word that has the same (or close) meaning to another word. what is one of the themes in "leiningen versus the ants"? a. power b. change c. creativity d. relationships

Answers

Answer:

I believe the answer to be "creativity."

Explanation:

In the story "Leiningen versus the Ants", the main character is a farmer in Brazil. He is warned that a swarm of army ants are on their way and is advised to run away. Leiningen, however, decides to stay and fight. He convinces his men to help him and, even though very injured at the end, he wins.

Throughout the story, Leiningen has to come up with several different solutions. Every time the ants are able to break his defenses, Leiningen must use his creativity to find a new way to defeat them. He uses moats filled with water, then moats filled with petrol and, when everything seems lost, he sees in a dam the solution. By flooding his plantation, he's able to save his men and himself, and avoids losing eveything he had achieved.

Even though power could also be a theme, Leiningen's power seems to come from his creativity. That's why I believe it to be the best answer.

Haven't read that story, but going from the title I am going to say A.

What can be inferred from these lines describing the pardoner in Chaucer's prologue to The Canterbury Tales? He had a fine veronica sewed to cap. His wallet lay before him in his lap, Stuffed full of pardons brought from Rome all hot.

Answers

The lines from The Canterbury Tales about the pardoner describes how he seems to have lots of money, enough to buy a hat with nice material with a nice fat wallet of pardons. This suggests that the pardoner is corrupt because in the time period Chaucer is writing, one could sell "pardons." You can conclude that the pardoner makes his money from selling holy forgiveness in the form of "pardons."

Which sentence contains a linking verb? A. George will be moving in one month.
B. I will be on time for the meeting.
C. Michelle slowly walked to the store.
D. The plants wilted in the stifling heat.

Answers

The correct answer is B. I will be on time for the meeting. This is because linking verbs don't show any action, rather they describe the relation between the subject and the object. This is why he will exist in the meeting on time, as "be" is not a verb that expresses action.

Choose one answer.
d. Find out the details of the issue ....
This is the answer that I choose because it encompasses the other answers - but analysing a human rights issue means more: knowing about the current state, the problems that are making it an issue (for example natural disasters) and the current attempts to combat the issue

I interpret it to mean that it is
