WHY WAS AGRICULTURE AN INNOVATION?!!WHAT WAS A POSITIVE OUTCOME OF THIS INNOVATION?

WHAT WAS A NEGATIVE OUTCOME?

Answers

Agriculture was an innovation because simply put, it gave the foundation for civilization. Without it, it would NOT be so easy as it is today to get food.

There were many positive outcomes of this innovation. One positive outcome is that agriculture really helps reduce poverty levels. Another positive outcome is that it provides employment opportunities for many people in rural areas. Obviously another positive outcome is that agriculture provides food to people everywhere.

Although there are many positive outcomes of agriculture, there are just as many negative outcomes. One negative outcome of agriculture is that it contributes to habitat loss. To open areas for agriculture, woods, jungles, and so many other biomes are just demolished. Agriculture also uses a LOT of water, so much so that it comes to the point of being wasteful. Agriculture also contributes to soil erosion.

During the 1840s, more Americans than British settled in the Oregon Country. How do you think this settlement influenced negotiations with the British over the territory?

Answers

The Treaty of 1818 between the US and Britain stated the Oregon Country would be jointly occupied by the US and Britain. But it resulted in disputes between Americans and British and another treaty, the Oregon Treaty, was signed in 1846. It stated the Oregon Country would be divided in two. The US would get all the land south of the 49th parallel (which eventually became the states of Washington and Oregon) and the British would get all the land north of the 49 parallel (which became British Columbia). Except for Vancouver Island off the coast of the Oregon Country, 4/5's of Vancouver Island was north of the 49th parallel so the US said Britain could have all of it instead of splitting it at the 49th parallel.

Explain to what extent nato is membership in this organization was a continuation or departure from us foreign policy

Answers

Entrance by the United States into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in 1949 was a departure from US foreign policy prior to that time.  Previously, the United States did sought to stay disassociated from European political alliances, and had to be pulled into both World War I and World War II.  When it became a member of the NATO alliance, this was the first time that the USA was committing itself in peacetime to a military alliance outside of the Western hemisphere.
