What was the main cause of the Panic of 1893?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: The Panic was the worst economic crisis to hit the nation in its history to that point. Economic historians are not certain what caused it but point to several possible factors. First, too many people attempted to redeem silver notes for gold; ultimately the statutory limit for the minimum amount of gold in federal reserves was reached and U.S. Notes could no longer be successfully redeemed for gold. Next, the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad went bankrupt. Then, the National Cordage Company (the most actively traded stock at the time) went into receivership as a result of its bankers calling their loans in response to rumors regarding the NCC's financial distress. A series of bank failures followed, and the price of silver fell. The Northern Pacific Railway, the Union Pacific Railroad and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad all failed. This was followed by the bankruptcy of many other companies; in total over 15,000 companies and 500 banks failed (many in the west). About 12%-18% of the workforce was unemployed at the Panic's peak.

I am pretty sure that the answer for the first question is A. Both empires shared similar laws and traditions because The West and East  used the same laws and Eastern Roman Empire continued using them.
The second one is definitely b. It serves as a day of rest and worship.  as it is main points of hajj for Muslims.
The third is b. a monk who defended the use of icons.
And what about the last one - b. Muslim non-Arabs were granted more privileges than Muslim Arabs. This quite a triky question, but the think you should remember is that Muslim non-Arabs were treated better.

c. Blacks were permitted to share railway cars with whites in the South.

d. Segregation in the South was determined to be legal.

Answers

Answer:

d. Segregation in the South was determined to be legal.

Explanation:

In 1892, Homer Plessy, a black man, sat in a "whites only" car of a Louisiana train. But Louisiana had a Separate Car Act (1890), which required separate railway cars for blacks and whites, and Plessy ended up arrested.

In the case, Plessy’s lawyer argued that the Separate Car Act violated the 13th and 14th Amendments, which established absolute equality before the law for people regardless of their origin or race.

However, the Supreme Court considered that segregation did not necessarily imply an inequality toward African Americans, and it wasn't a form of discrimination. Therefore, segregation in the South was determined to be legal.

d. Segregation in the South was determined to be legal
