area=LW
perimiter=2(L+W)

aera=36
P=25

36=LW
25=2(L+W)

25=2(L+W)
divide both sides by 2
12.5=L+W
minus W
12.5-W=L

sub for L
36=W(12.5-W)
36=12.5W-W^2
minus (12.5W-W^2) both sides
0=W^2-12.5W+36
use quadratic formula

if you have
ax^2+bx+c=0
x=\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^(2)-4ac} }{2a}

a=1
b=-12.5
c=36

W=\frac{-(-12.5)+/- \sqrt{(-12.5)^(2)-4(1)(36)} }{2(1)}
W=(12.5+/- √(156.25-144) )/(2)
W=(12.5+/- √(12.25) )/(2)
aprox
W=8 or 4.5

sub
12.5-W=L

12.5-8=L=4.5
12.5-4.5=L=8
either way

the dimentions are 4.5cm by 8 cm

volume of each can by 25%.

a) What will be the height of the new can if the radius remains the same?

b) What will be the radius of the new can if the height remains the same?

Volume = πr²h

V = π × 4² × 12
V = π × 16 × 12
V = 192π

Original Volume = 192
π

25% = 0.25
0.25 × 192 = 48

New Volume = Old Volume + 25% Old Volume
New Volume = 192π + 48π
New Volume = 240π

25% = 0.25
12 × 0.25 = 3

New Height = Old Height + 25% Old Height
New Height = 12 + 3
New Height = 15

V = πr²h
240π = π × r² × 15
240 = 15r²
16 = r²
√16 = √r²
4 = r

New Radius = 4
25% as a decimal is 0.25
multiply 12 and 0.25  12 X 0.25 = 3
add 2 and 3 2+3=5

So that makes the new height 15

the new radius is 4:46

What does 6(-2.1k - 2) + (7k + 5) equal

Answers

Distribute and combine like terms:

-12.6k -12 +7k +5

Simplified equation: -5.6k -7

If you are solving for k:

-5.6k - 7 = 0

-5.6k = 7

k = -7/5.6
