How dose judaism influence modern society

Answers

There are several aspects of our modern life that originated in the Judaic faith. For example:

  • Judaism was the first monotheistic religion, and it gave rise to Christianity. As Christianity was the dominant religion over much of Europe, and Europe colonized such large territories, the effects of this can be felt almost anywhere in the world.
  • Judaism also created the idea of the weekend, through the concept of Shabbat, which is the day of the week in which no work is performed.
  • The Torah (the holy text of Judaism) is alone in the Ancient World in claiming that laws apply to everyone equally, regardless of class, race or social status. This concept is important in most codes of law everywhere in the world.

Judaism also remains visible and relevant in the modern world due to the practices of modern Jewish communities who still maintain their traditions alive.

Please help with Social StudiesHow might the cultures of Latin America be different if the Spanish and Portuguese had never arrived? What kind of culture do you think would dominate the region today?

Answers

Wow a lot of things would not be the same. First of all a completely different culture would be dominant. But to say if the Spanish and Portuguese never arrived language would probably be different. They also brought along religion and many different life style choices that changed people.  There was an idea that when the Spanish "invaded" They brought along germs that at one time killed of hundreds of people but eventually built up their immune systems they brought over weapons or steel, and they showed people different ways to find food, shelter and protection. Why would foreigners risk their life at war

Answers

Do you have any specific war or specific foreigners in question?

I can tell you a bit about (what I think were) the reasons of Pulaski and Kosciuszko.

For them, an idea of freedom from oppression was very important, as their own country, Poland, was under a foreign occupation at the time. For whatever reason they could not fight for their own country, but by fighting for American freedom, they could at least fight for the idea of freedom.

Other reasons could be struggling for fame and eternal glory.
