Read the passage about the life of Clara Barton.Clara Barton was born on December 25, 1821, in Oxford, Massachusetts. As a child, Clara was very shy. She first found her calling while caring for her brother after he fell from a rafter in their barn. Despite the fact that most teachers were still men at the time, Clara became a teacher at the age of 15, as well as one of the first women to work for the federal government at the US Patent Office. In 1881, Clara opened the first chapter of the American Red Cross in the United States and served as its first president. The American Red Cross is a relief organization that offers assistance to victims of such disasters as the 1889 Johnstown Flood and the 1900 Galveston Flood. She served as president for 23 years before resigning amidst claims that money was being mishandled internally.

The Civil War was a bloody war fought between the years 1861–1865. During the war, Clara sought to help the soldiers in any way she could. She collected needed supplies and distributed them to the Union Army. These supplies included items such as food, bedding, and clothing. However, Clara was not content to sit on the sidelines; she often risked her own life to care for soldiers wounded in battle. For these deeds, she was nicknamed the "Angel of the Battlefield.” When the war ended in 1865, Clara worked for the War Department helping in various ways.

Ideas for titles for Witch story                                                                                                          I'm writing a story for my English class where the main character is a teenage witch who is forced to live with her maternal aunt when her dad realizes she's got magic (he always figured she might, since his ex wife did) The town her aunt lives in is sort of like Halloweentown (if anyone has ever seen that Disny Movie) and she lives in a house that in haunted by a teenage boy. The romance doesn't play much into it, but it's there. I have to name it and I'm having trouble coming up with a name. All I have are Son of a Witch (which I think it too silly)
Charming (which sounds too much like the TV show)
So I dunno. Help please?

Hi there, I think I can help with a title, this story seems interesting, you should post it, I would totally read it. :)

Here are some titles I've come up with (sorry if they're lame)

I mean since it has romance I thought this would be a nice title

A heart filled with roses. Sound more like a poem title, i know but it seemed sweet. Personal expreience I think most girls like flowers and roses are popular, this may seem kinda random but he/she could have a heart like roses, strong and powerful. Ik this is cheezy, that's why I made a few. xD

The Magical Affect/Effect, or Magical Affect/Effect this is also a cheezy title I came up with, she does have magic and there is interest in this story two these characters so thats why I put added this lol.

A Strange Place. Magic isn't common to the world of non magical people so I guess a strange place could fit your title.

Hope these help with your story, sorry if these aren't what you're looking for. Have a wonderful day/evening

monica paid sales tax of $1.50 when she bought a new bike helmet. If the sales tax rate was 5% ,how. much did the store charge 6 grade answer key

Answers

In order to obtain the total amount that Monica was charged you should follow some steps.

How much was the net price? You can obtain this value either by clearing the x:

X * 5% = $1.50

X = $1.50 / 5%

Or by using simple rule of three:

If 5% is $1.50

Then 100% is X

So you obtain = $30

Now you just need to sum The net prices and the taxes

Net + tax = Total Charge

$30 + $1.5 = $31.5

To find the total from the percent part you have, you divide the part by the percentage.
1.50÷0.05=30
The total is $30
The total the store charged, including sales tax, is $31.50.

Answer:

A. It decreased the population because Native Americans were not

immune to European diseases.

Explanation:

Among all the animals and plants, Europeans brought to Native Americans many terrible diseases. Native Americans were strong but they didn’t have an immune system resistant to European diseases.

Native people had no resistance to such diseases as measles, smallpox, mumps, whooping cough, influenza, chickenpox, and typhus. The main disease that had a great impact was smallpox. This disease decreased habitats in a meaningful way.

Final answer:

The correct answer to the question is option A.

The Columbian Exchange led to a significant decrease in the Native American population, mainly due to diseases brought over by Europeans like smallpox and measles.

Explanation:

The Columbian Exchange had a profound effect on the Native American population. The most significant impact was a drastic decrease in the population due to diseases brought over by Europeans, such as smallpox and measles, to which Native Americans had no immunity. Alongside experiences of war and colonization, these diseases decimated Native populations, reshaping the cultural and demographic landscape of the Americas.
