How do i find the unknown side length of a triangle?

Answers

By using Pythagoreans Theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2
several ways like somebody said below you can use use pythag assuming u know the other 2 side lengths w/ a^2+b^2=c^2
however if you do not know the other two side lengths you must use trigonometry and sohcahtoa
sin(angle)= the side length opposite the angle to be referred to as O
divided by the longest side length (hypotenuse)or the angle directly across from the 90 degree angle to be referred to as H
cos(angle) the side length adjacent (next to) the known angle to be referred to as A/H
and finally tan(angle)O/A
if you are still having trouble with this id suggest youtubing "get triggy with it" decent video that explains trig pretty well  as well as how to find a missing angle rather than a side length
hope this helps -j

Solve for x: 2 over 3 (x - 4) = 2x.

Answers

2/3 (x - 4 ) = 2x

Simplify both sides of the equation.

2/3(x−4)=2x

Simplify:

2/3(x−4)=2x

(2/3)(x)+(2/3)(−4)=2x(Distribute)

2/3x+−8/3=2x

Subtract 2x from both sides.

2/3x+−8/3−2x=2x−2x

−4/3x+−8/3=0

Add 8/3 to both sides.

−4/3x+−8/3+8/3=0+8/3

−4/3x=8/3

Multiply both sides by 3/(-4).

(3/−4)*(−4/3x)=(3/−4)*(8/3)

x=−2

The correct answer for the value of for the expression (2)/(3)(x - 4) = 2x is

-2.

To solve for x in the equation:

(2)/(3)(x - 4) = 2x

First, distribute the (2)/(3) to the terms inside the parentheses:

(2)/(3) x - (2)/(3)*4 = 2x

(2)/(3) x - (8)/(3) = 2x

Next, Isolate the terms with x on one side of the equation.

Subtract  (2)/(3)x term from both side of the equation:

(2)/(3) x - (2)/(3) x-(8)/(3) = 2x-(2)/(3) x

(-8)/(3)  = (4)/(3) x

Now, Solve for x by multiplying both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of (4)/(3), which is (3)/(4):

(-8)/(3) * (3)/(4)= (4x)/(3) *  (3)/(4)

x= (-8)/(4)

Simplify further:

x = -2

The solution of the equation  (2)/(3)(x - 4) = 2x is x = -2.

in a standard deck of t2 playing cards, there are 4 aces, 4 kings, 4 queens, and 4 Jacks. All other cards have number values. the kings, queens, and Jack's are called face cards. You are dealt 2 cards in a sequence. calculate the probability of being dealt a 3 and then a 10. write your answer as a decimal to the nearest hundredth

Answers

Answer:

0.01

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the deck is the national playing deck with 52 cards.

Your probability of getting a 3 from the entire deck is 4/52. This number is the same for 10.

To get the probability of pulling a 3 and a 10 afterwards, you must multiply these two fractions (you're expecting a lower percentage).

4/52 * 4/52 = 0.0059

Which of the following options correctly factorizes the algebraic expression x^2 + 16x - 36? A) (x + 18)(x - 2) B) (x + 6)(x + 6) C) (x + 12)(x - 3) D) (x + 9)(x - 4)

Answers

Answer:

A) (x + 18)(x -2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Factorizing the algebraic expression:

x² + 16x -36

Sum = 16

Product = -36

Factors: 18, (-2)

When we add the factors 18 + (-2), we get 16 and when we multiply the factors 18 * (-2), we get (-36).

Rewrite the middle term using the factors.

x² + 18x - 2x - 36

From the first two terms, take out the common term x and from the third and fourth terms, take out the common factor (-2).

x*(x + 18) - 2*(x + 18) = (x +18)(x - 2)

Answer: A) (x + 18)(x - 2)

The dimensions in inches of a shipping box at We Ship 4 You can be expressed as width x, length x + 5, and height 3x – 1. The volume is about 7.6 ft3. Find the dimensions of the box in inches. Round to the nearest inch.

Answers

If you would like to find the dimensions of the box in inches, you can calculate this using the following steps:

width ... x inches
length ... (x + 5) inches
height ... (3 * x - 1) inches

volume ... 7.6 ft³
1 foot = 12 inches
7.6 ft³ = 13132.80 in³

volume = width * length * height
13133 = x * (x + 5) * (3 * x - 1)
13133 = (x^2 + 5 * x) * (3 * x - 1)
13133 = 3 * x^3 - x^2 + 15 * x^2 - 5 * x
13133 = 3 * x^3 + 14 * x^2 - 5 * x
0 = 3 * x^3 + 14 * x^2 - 5 * x - 13133
1. x ≈ 14.972 ≈ 15
2.x ≈ -9.820 + 13.998 * i
3. x ≈ -9.820 - 13.998 * i

width ... x inches = 15 inches
length ... (x + 5) inches = 15 + 5 = 20 inches
height ... (3 * x - 1) inches = 3 * 15 - 1 = 45 - 1 = 44 inches

The dimensions of the box are 15 inches, 20 inches and 44 inches.

What is the value of x in the equation 4x+8y=40 when y=0.8

Answers

Substitute in 0.8 for y.

4x+8y=40 \n \n 4x + 8(0.8) = 40 \n \n 4x + 6.5 = 40 \n \n 4x = 40 - 6.4 \n \n 4x = 33.6 \n \n x = 8.4 \n \n

The final result is: x = 8.4.

you plug in the y .8 to the8 that is 6.4

them you subtract 40 by 6.4that is  33.6

then you divide that by 4is 8.4
