A tendon joins a muscle to a bone; a ligament joins a bone to a bone. The correct option is C.

What is a ligament?

A ligament is a fibrous connective tissue that connects bones and serves to hold structures together and keep them stable.

Ligaments frequently connect two bones, especially at joints: They act similarly to strong, firmly attached straps or ropes in stabilizing the joint or holding the ends of two bones together.

Tendons are fibrous connective tissues that connect muscle to bone. Tendons can also connect muscles to structures like the eyeball. A tendon moves the bone or structure.

The simplest way to remember the distinction between tendons and ligaments is as follows: Ligaments connect two bones. Tendons connect a muscle to a bone.

Thus, the correct option is C.

3.why does energy as heat move away from the tropics and toward the pole in the global weather system? 5. A student is reading about predicted upcoming El Niño event. In what way could the student expect to see the global weather patterns change?

Answers

Heat in Physics is an energy that is in a process of transfer between a system and its surroundings other than the transfer of matter. In  Thermodynamics,  a science that deals with the study of heat and temperature and their relationship to energy and work, finer details of the process is unpredictable. Heat flows from a hotter to a colder body when there is a physical pathway. This pathway is suitable and can be direct such as radiation and conduction. It can also be indirect as in convective circulation.

There are three types of heat transfer or heat propagation; conduction, convection and radiation. Heat transfer is the process by which heat projects externally however, depending on the temperature and pressure. Also called the movement of heat from a low temperatured state which increases as heat progresses.
Conduction is the heat transfer by contact, immediate contact.
Convection is the transfer of heat through air and water.
Radiation is the transfer of heat regardless of the presence of atoms or particles.

What environmental condition contributed to the heat wave experienced in Europe and the thousands of deaths in France? a. polluted water b. sewage c. air pollution d. a and b Please select the best answer from the choices provided A B C D

Answers

Answer:

b. Air pollution,  Contributed to the heat wave in Europe and the thousands of death in France.

Explanation:

  • Heat wave is referred to a period of extremely hot weather in Europe.
  • During this period several deaths resulting from extreme heat and related health isssues were reported.
  • The main cause of such a rise temperature is the Global warming.
  • The temperature of the atmosphere is maintained due to the green house effect otherwise the temperature of the Earth would have dropped below freezing point at night.
  • When the amount of green house gases rises in atmosphere, more and more heat is trapped and the temperature of the earth rises .
  • The rise in amount of green house gases in atmosphere is the result of Air pollution.
  • Burning of fuels, use of CFCs and HCFCs etc contribute to this rise.
  • Thus, air pollution contributed to the heat waves.

What can happen if an organism's population gets too big?

Answers

Greetings!

There are many bad consequences that may occur if a population becomes to large/over-sized

Here are a few examples:

~Shorter Supply of food and water.

~Limited Shelter

~More predation

These are only a few things that may happen.

Rarely, however, do we see a population get to big for its environment. Normally, nature seems to balance itself out. Even us, humans, have not become to many for the Earth we live on.

However, if over-population were to occur, then there are licensed hunters that may be put in charge, to take care of the situation.

If an organisms population gets too big and exceeds the carrying capacity, a lot of consequences may happen, such as fighting for food, resources, but eventually some must die off.

If the population is over the carrying capacity, resources such as land, food, or water must be limited and organisms must fight for it in order to survive. And who wins? The ones that have a favorable characteristic. They survive while others die. When the number of organisms that die exceeds the number that is born, this is the death phase in a population. Death phase is very common if the initial population gets too big.
