After Jordan tells Nick the story of Gatsby and Daisy, Nick says that Gatsby "came alive to me, delivered suddenly from the womb of his purposeless splendor." How does the metaphor of birth help explain what Gatsby’s behavior had meant to Nick up to then?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

Daisy loved Gatsby, but after he left for war she couldn't accompany him. She then married Tom a year later and freaked out right before the marriage because she got a letter. Then Gatsby bought a house across from her's purposely.

The metaphor tells us that Nick finally understand everything now, all the pieces fit together and he sees Gatsby for the primary time as an actually person with hopes and dreams

I would say that the thing that would likely happen is C) Unferth challenges Beowulf again, and the two fight to the death.
Beowulf would never say no to a fight, and he wouldn't die so easily.

The problem is not that things are broken. The problem is that they are not repaired again. The white man has broken the tribe. And it is my belief that it cannot be repaired again. But the house that is broken, and the man that falls apart when the house is broken, these are the terrible things." Do you believe that the novel agrees with Msimangu's assessment of South Africa? Why or why not?

Answers

This passage comes from the novel Cry, the Beloved Country.

I believe that the novel agrees with the assessment that Msimangu makes of the situation in South Africa. In this passage, Msimangu states that the main problem of South Africa is that the disruption caused by Europeans severed the ties people had with their tribes. The consequence of this is that people have nothing left in their towns, which takes them to Johannesburg. Once in the city, they become morally corrupt. This is reflected in the themes that the book deals with. The book is concerned with the way in which tribal structures have been lost, and it suggests that this is one of the main causes of the problems the country is faced with.

What is ironic about anneke's statement that life is alot harder for men?

Answers

In Scott Russell Sanders' essay "The men we carry in our minds", Anneke, she says that she thinks it's a lot harder for men as women are inspired and excited, whereas men are "eaten up with guilt", this is ironic as she is meaning that men are less inspired by their lives compared to women, as men don't have as much purpose anymore.Hope this helps. If anyone has read Frank Douglass please help me... Okay here is one thing if the answer if it is copied, I don't care just help me with this.... What is Douglass’s hope, and why does he have the hope?

Answers

What Douglass hopes to accomplish with his accusations in this speech is to persuade white Americans to throw off their hypocrisy and really do something to help the slaves.  In this speech, he is trying to get them to see that their own actions and those of their fellow Northerners really are part of the problem.  He is trying to get them to see that the country that they feel so proud of is really not based on freedom and liberty but on slavery and tyranny.  He is trying to get them to see that so that they will be shocked and be motivated to do something about slavery.
Because He is forced to work in every weather condition, no matter how hot or cold. The constant toil  Douglass’s hope and destroys his interest in intellectual pursuits. He is unable to think clearly but he cannot follow through out of a combination of hope and fear.

Which literary device is used in the following sentence? “If you are not too long, I will wait here for you all my life.”

Answers

The correct answer is paradox.

Paradox is a figure of speech that combines two completely opposite things into one. In the excerpt above, we can see that the speaker is willing to wait for his/her loved one his/her entire life, however, only if they don't take too long to get to him/her. This is a paradox because they weren't willing to wait for them long in the first place, as it turns out.

This is an example of a paradox.

He/she would wait for his/her's person of interest their entire life, of course, if it's not that long. It is a clever paradox.
