Why is Earth Day celebrated?

In order to increase public awareness of environmental issues, a Wisconsin-based US senator initiated the inaugural Earth Day celebration in 1970. Rallies were held all over the nation, and by the end of the year, the Environmental Protection Agency had been established by the American government.

Over 140 nations worldwide participated in Earth Day celebrations by the year 1990. By planting a tree of your own, you may help balance the estimated 15 billion trees that are lost worldwide each year. For people to breathe, trees emit oxygen after absorbing carbon dioxide. They also offer food and shelter to creatures like owls and squirrels.

The Scientific Revolution’s advances in knowledge about the physical world led philosophers and other thinkers to believe that if reason structured the physical world, then reason might also be found in the world of human activity and government.

Answers

Philosophers and other thinkers had many different ideas and propositions about the possible connection between reason and the physical world. One of them is the one you've posted, however, that doesn't mean it's universally recognized or true.

Soon after the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775, George Washington

Answers

Soon after the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775, George Washington assumed command of the Continental Army in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in July 1775.

The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775, as part of the Siege of Boston during the War of Independence. General Israel Putnam was in charge of the revolutionary forces, while Major General William Howe commanded the British forces. The result was a pyrrhic victory for the British, who suffered more than a thousand casualties.

The Congress created the Continental Army on June 14, 1775, three days before the battle. Proposed by John Adams of Massachusetts, Washington was named Commander in Chief of it, of which assumed control in the month of July, during the Siege of Boston, in which he defeated the British Forces.

Became commander of the American army and began to organize it.

HEY GUYS I NEED HELPI need an idea to make a greek myth.
(No stupid Ideas Please)
Please also write a few sentences on what the myth should be about.(ex: what happens in the story.)

I need to write 3 paragraphs with 8-9 sentences each.:( So wish me luck :)

Answers

So, first, pick some greek mythological characters and research their background. For example:

Eris: Goddess of discord, and hatred. Starts out small and weak, but grows until she touches the sky, and casts hatred down on all sides.... etc. (you'd have to do more research).

Posiedon: God of the sea. Zeus' brother... etc.

Long ago, there was a giant continent that connected North America to Europe, Africa, and Antarctica. The people of this land were very kind to all those around them. They were known as the Pacificans. They kept peace between the gods and the people, and prevented wars from starting. One of the Pacifican's greatest friends was Posiedon, god of the sea. He supplied them plenty of water, and they in return helped to keep the sea creatures safe from the items of people on land.
Eris, however, did not like this. It was almost impossible for people to hate one another with the Pacificans around. Wars were rare. Eris knew she needed to change this. So, to anger Posiedon, she blackened all the waters, and convinced the sea god that it had been the Pacificans. In his fury, Posiedon filled the land of the Pacificans with water, killing them all. This water became the Pacific Ocean, and war and hatred broke out everywhere.

What are some examples of people in power using these tactics today

Answers

I think this question is related to the movie "Selma:The Bridge to the Ballot".

People in power use laws, custom and procedures to maintain a status quo that favored them. They believe that everyone has a price. They are willing to bribe anyone to either bend some rules, or hasten procedures to get their desired results.

If someone can't be bribed, the family and job opportunities of said individual will be threatened forcing said individual to conform to what the person in power wants to happen.
