This is a confusing problem.  As I read it, it kept going
in and out of focus.  But I think I've got it now, and I also
think that NONE of the choices is correct.

We have to work with different values that 'a' and 'b' can be.
What are 'a' and 'b' ?   The question says that they're integers
that we pick so that  a·b  is always 36.  Can you think of another
way to say the same thing ?

'a' and 'b' are a factor pair of 36 !  That will help us write down
all the possible pairs of 'a' and 'b'.  I'll do that in a second, but first ...
notice that the question is also going to talk about " a + b ",
so as I write down the factor pairs, I'll also write their sum next to
each one:

The factor pairs of 36 are:

1  and  36 . . . . . sum = 37
2  and  18 . . . . . sum = 20
3  and  12 . . . . . sum = 15
4  and  9 . . . . . . sum = 13
6  and  6 . . . . . . sum = 12 .

The question wants us to look through the list
for the biggest sum and the smallest sum, and
then figure out the difference between them.
That's easy !

The biggest sum is  37 .
The smallest sum is  12 .

The difference is    (37 - 12)  =  25 .

I don't see that among the choices.
But if I understand the question, then
that's my answer, and I'm sticking to it.

A number increased by 4 is the same as 19 minus 2 times the number

Answers

Here :

x+4=19-2x
x+2x=19-4
3x=15/3
x=5
So it says A NUMBER We don't know what number SO we are gonna add any variable you want.
LET SAYS m = NUMBER INCREASED
is means equal
m+4= 19-2m

m+2m=19-4
3m=19-4
3m=15
3÷3m=15÷3                  3and 3 cancel each other and 15÷3 is 5
m=5
Answer is 5

if the area of a parallelogram is 86cm and the height is 12cm write an equation that relates the height,base and area of the parallelogram

Answers

Answer:

The relation to find base is, base=(area\ of\ the \ parallelogram)/(height)=(86)/(12)=7.16\ cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Area of the parallelogram =86\ cm^2

Height of the parallelogram =12\ cm

We know that the area of the parallelogram =base* height

So

To find base we have to divide the height on both sides of the equation.

base=(area\ of\ the \ parallelogram)/(height)

Plugging the values.

base=(86)/(12) =7.1\ cm

So the base in terms of area of the parallelogram and its height is b=(area)/(height) =(86)/(12)=7.16\ cm

20 hundreds equals how many thousands?

Answers

we know that

1\ hundred=100

1\ thousand=1,000

so

1\ thousand=10\ hundred

By proportion

Find how many thousands are 20\ hundreds

(1)/(10) (thousand)/(hundreds) =(x)/(20) (thousands)/(hundreds) \n\nx=20/10 \n\nx=2\ thousands

therefore

the answer is

2\ thousands

The number of 20 hundreds in 2 thousands is 2.

We are given that;

The number = 20 hundreds

Now,

20 hundreds equals 2 thousands.

The unitary method is a method for solving a problem by the first value of a single unit and then finding the value by multiplying the single value.

Unitary method is a technique by which we find the value of a single unit from the value of multiple devices and the value of more than one unit from the value of a single unit.

It is a method that we use for most of the calculations in math.

We can divide 20 by 10 to get the answer.

$(20)/(10) = 2$

Therefore, by the unitary method answer will be 2.

The MAD of set 1 is 10.5 less than the MAD of set 2.

What is MAD?

MAD is mean absolute deviation which is calculated by

MAD = ∑₁ⁿ(|x - μ|)/n

Given data of set 1 : 5,10,7,2

and set 2: 5,10,7,42

MAD of set 1 = MAD(1) =  ∑₁ⁿ(|x - μ|)/n

where μ is mean of set 1 and x are the entries of set and n is no. of entries,

μ =( 5+10+7+2)/4 =24/4 =6

now reduce the values of set 1 from mean

|x - μ| of set = 1,4,1,4

MAD(1) = ∑₁ⁿ(|x - μ|)/n = (1+4+1+4)/4 =10/4

MAD(1) = 2.5

MAD of set 2 = MAD(2) =  ∑₁ⁿ(|x - μ|)/n

calculate mean for set 2

μ =( 5+10+7+42)/4 =64/4 = 16

now reduce the values of set 2 from mean

|x - μ| of set = 11,6,9,26

MAD(2) = ∑₁ⁿ(|x - μ|)/n =(11+6+9+26 )/4 =52/4

MAD(2) = 13

MAD(2) - MAD(1)  = 13-2.5 = 10.5

Hence the set 1 is 10.5 less then set 2

Answer:

the answer is C

Step-by-step explanation:

if you do 5+10+7+2 you get 24 divide by 4 you get 6 mean is 6 for set 1

Set 2 if you do 5+10+7+42 you get 64 divide by 4 and you get 16 16-10.5 you get so 5.5 set is less than set 2 there ya go dude
