My algebra math book has this math problem ---> 4a - 3b = 21.i am supposed to figure out if it is true or false. but the thing is, i do not know how to do this so that i can find out if it is true or not.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Answers

The value of (4a - 3b) depends on what 'a' and 'b' are.

There are many combinations of 'a' and 'b' that make
(4a - 3b) equal to 21, and a whole bunch of others
that don't.

The equation in your question is not true OR false until you know
what 'a' and 'b' are.  I suspect that right next to this problem in your
math book, it gives you some values for 'a' and 'b'.

Here are a few examples of how to do it:

1).  I tell you that  a=2  and  b=1.
You take those numbers, and write them in place
of 'a' and 'b' in the left side of the equation:

                   4a - 3b

                  4(2) - 3(1)

                    8   -   3  =  5

If  a=2  and  b=1, then the left side of the equation is  5, not 21,
and the equation is false.

================================

2).  I tell you that  a=5  and  b=4.
You take those numbers, and write them in place
of 'a' and 'b' in the left side of the equation:

                       4a - 3b

                       4(5) - 3(4)

                         20 -  12  =  8

If  a=5  and  b=4, then the left side of the equation is  8, not 21,
and the equation is false.

=================================

3).  I tell you that  a=6  and  b=1.
You take those numbers, and write them in place
of 'a' and 'b' in the left side of the equation:

                   4a - 3b

                 4(6) - 3(1)

                   24  - 3  =  21

If  a=6  and  b=1, then the left side of the equation is  21,
and the equation is TRUE.

This is not the only possible pair of numbers for 'a' and 'b'
that make the equation true.  There are tons of possibilities.
Look around the question in your book and see if it gives you
values for 'a' and 'b' to test in the equation.

Alicia and Jeremy weigh a cell phone on a digital scale. They write down 113 but forget to record the unit. Which unit of measurement is correct? How do you know?

Answers

For this case, what you should keep in mind is that the unit that must be written next to the number is a unit of mass.

The unit of mass in the international system is kilograms or equivalently:

m: [Kg]

We know that physically it is impossible for a phone to weigh 113 kilograms.

Therefore, a unit of equivalent mass must be written.

An ideal weight, would be for example:

113 grams

Note: the conversion between kilograms and grams is:

1 kilogram = 1000 grams

Answer:

A unit of measurement that is correct can be:

113 grams

The correct unit of measurement for the weight of a cell phone is grams.

We are given that;

Unit= 113

Now,

The conversion from one quantity unit to another quantity unit followed by the process of division, and multiplication by a conversion factor.

The grams are a common unit of mass in the metric system, and most cell phones weigh between 100 and 200 grams.

For example, the Nothing Phone 2 weighs 201.2 grams3.

If Alicia and Jeremy wrote down 113, then their cell phone weighs 113 grams.

Therefore, by conversion the answer will be grams.

Which pair of angles is a linear pair? A. Angle VQT and Angle SQT
B. Angle WQV and angle VQU
C. Angle RQS and angle SQT
B. Angle SQT and Angle TQU

Please respond with the correct answer, and how you got the answer :)

Hey Jasmine! So a linear pair must equal 180 degrees, Option A makes the most sense to me because if you were to combine both the angles together they would equal 180 degrees, all of the other options would be skewed from 180

Step-by-step explanation:

well katie if katie wants to spend 3.00 she would have to do add it 4 times and it will be 2.60 and she would save 0.40 cents but if she adds it again it would be 3.25.

The prism has a surface area of 202 ft2.What would the surface area of the prism be if each dimension were tripled?

ft2

Answers

Let's call the dimensions of the prism (I will assume it is rectangular) a, b, and c.

The surface area is:

2ab + 2ac + 2bc = 202

The dimensions of the new prism are 3a, 3b, and 3c.

This surface area would be:

2(3a)(3b) + 2(3a)(3c) + 2(3b)(3c) =

2(9ab) + 2(9ac) + 2(9bc) =

9(2ab + 2ac + 2bc) =

9(202) = \boxed{1818}

Hope this helps :D

Two students went to the schools clinic with fevers Isabell had a temperature of 103.78 and Bryan had a temperature that was 2.36 less what was Ryan’s temperature?A) 101.39
B) 106.17
C) 103.78
D) 108.57

Answers

Answer:

1)  The temperature of Bryan  is 101.39°

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, the Temperature of Isabell is given =   103.78 degrees

Now, the temperature  of Bryan = Iaabell's Tempt.  - 2.36

So, temperature  of Bryan  =   (103.78  - 2.36)  degrees

                                              =  101.4  degree

Hence, the temperature of Bryan =    101.4  degree

So, the most appropriate option is 101.39°
