Which words in the sentence are adverbs? Is that a dog howling very loudly in the front yard? Choose all answers that are correct. A. howling B. very C. front D. loudly

Answers

Answer:

A. howls

Explanation:

The verb "howl" in this sentence has to be in agreement with the word "pack" and not with the word "wolves", because the phrase says that one (1) pack of wolves howled, in this case "one pack" this in the singular, then the verb has to be in the singular also, in this case, the right alternative is "howls".

I have a grammar test coming up next Tuesday. I cannot seem to find a good rule for active and passive voices. I have flunked all of the worksheets that my teacher gave us on it. Please help me find a rule so I will do well on my test.

Answers

An active voice is a straight out sentence like "She wrote a song". The focus is on the she and that she wrote a song. Simple.
Now the passive voice is different. This is a tip that I use a lot to figure out the difference. Passive voices usually have a to be verb like is, were, was, and a past participle, like learned, cleaned, and watched.
In this case, the sentence in passive voice would be "A song was written by her." Notice how was is a to be verb and written is a part participle.
Hope this clears up any confusion and write in the comments if you have any questions. And good luck on your test :)

The setting is demonstrated as the literary element that primarily aims to reveal the surrounding i.e. 'time and place' in which the narrative is set in.
