Hi Cynthia,

How are you doing in this period? I believe you are coping in this period of pandemic and total lockdown. Everything will be alright in no time.

You have always told me that we should always be willing to render assistance whenever situations call for it, you said we might be saving a whole nation. This is a true saying my friend as I have a first hand experience to share. I was going home after work on a very dark night last week when I found a body lying down lifelessly near a bush path. I was dead scared and wanted to drive off but I remembered your words and became uncomfortable with the decision I made. I stopped and came down to observe the body, then I noticed it still had some life. There was nobody around to help and I managed to carry the man into the vehicle all alone and take him to a nearby hospital without minding the security and legal  implications of my actions. I was very unsure that anything good could result from what I did, I thought he would still die. He was given medical attention and he survived. Miracle, right?

When he got well he introduced himself as a lawyer and he was shot by armed robbers while going to his office to get some case files. The armed robbers collected his vehicle and all other valuables on him and left him to die. In the course of the discussion, I got to know that he was the lawyer trying to help our family concerning our brother who was indicted of murder and he is the only one that has all the information required to prevent him from going to jail. I never met the man before now but my father has always talked about him and I have spoken to him once on phone. I thank God I did not jettison the spirit that insisted that I must help him.

I learnt a great the from the whole experience. If you help anyone in time of need you are not only saving a nation, you might be saving yourself. Thank you Cynthia for instilling in me that wonderful virtue, you are the best. I hope to receive an email from you soon.

Best Regards.

Which of these words is NOT a preposition?a. throughout
b. going
c. beneath
d. among

Answers

The answer is B, going. Prepositions are words that give information to the reader. This information can include where something takes place (such as 'at' the mall), when or why something takes place (such as 'before' lunch), or general descriptive information (such as the girl 'with' the cute tattoo). Going is the only word here that cannot answer these questions of where, when or why. It is a verb.

A caesura is a primary accent.
True OR False?

Answers

False. A caesura is a complete pause in a verse or a musical composition. It is a brief silent pause during which metrical time is not counted.

The correct answer is False

Explanation:

In language, a primary accent refers to the syllable of a word that is stressed or accented in the case of words with two or more syllables, which is used in poetry as part of the rhythm. On the other hand, the word caesura refers to a break or pause in a verse marked by a comma or similar punctuation mark that usually divides or splits the verse into equal parts and introduces a silence in the middle of it. This means the caesura is not related to the sound of syllables as in the case of primary accents, but a stylistic device used in poetry to create breaks. Considering this, it can be concluded it is false a caesura is a primary accent because a caesura is a pause or break in the verse and it is not related to whether a syllable is accented or not.
