Where did most immigrants choose to live when they entered the united states in the late 1800s?

Answers

Most immigrants chose to live in the cities when they entered the United States in the late 1800s, since this is where a majority of the jobs were due to Industrialization.

Answer: Because cities attracted newcomers with their cultural attractions, social networks, and employment prospects, the majority of immigrants in the late 1800s preferred to reside in metropolitan regions. Which group convinced President James Madison to go to war with England in 1812? A. land-hungry politicians from the West and South B. angry veterans of the Revolutionary War C. wealthy shipbuilders from New England D. radical members of the Federalist Party..

Answers

The group convinced President James Madison to go to war with England in 1812 as radical members of the Federalist Party. Thus the correct option is D.

What is a group?

A group is referred to as a collection of people who come together to form a relationship or connection with each other. These groups mainly form to perform collaborative activities to achieve something.

Congress received a message from President James Madison described what he considered to be America's three main diplomatic complaints with Britain which includes having significant, British Orders in the Council, and Britain's encouragement of Indian conflict on America's western boundary.

Due to the fact that the country was not prepared for war, James Madison made an effort to prevent the War of 1812 from starting. The United States did not have enough resources to fight the war.

Therefore, option D is appropriate.

Why did some leaders believe that unicameral legislatures created more democratic governments?

Answers

Some leaders believed that unicameral legislatures created more democratic governments because there was less "gridlock," since legislation only have to pass through a single chamber as opposed to two.

Answer:   All the members of the single house are elected by the people.

Context/detail:

The Articles of Confederation, which preceded the creating of the Constitution of the United States, employed a unicameral (single house) legislature.  In the end, the United States Constitutional Convention in 1787 decided to go with a bicameral (two-house) legislature as a compromise between small states vs. large states in regard to representation.  "The Great Compromise," as it became known, resolved a dispute between small population states and large population states.  The large population states wanted representation in Congress to be based on a state's population size.  The smaller states feared this would lead to unchecked dominance by the big states; they wanted all states to receive the same amount of representation.  The Great Compromise created a bicameral (two-chamber) legislature.  Representation in the House of Representatives would be based on population.  In the Senate, all states would have the same amount of representation, by two Senators.  In the original US Constitution, each state's senators were selected by that state's legislature, not directly elected by the people.  The 17th Amendment changed that, so that now US Senators are also directly elected by the people.  But we retain the two-house legislature as a way of balancing power between states with high populations and those with lower populations.
