Misting increase water loss from plant leaves while roots are forming.TRUE

FALSE

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: True
have a nice day
Answer 2
Answer:

Misting does not increase water loss from plant leaves while roots are forming.

False. Misting actually helps to reduce water loss from plant leaves. When plants are misted, the water droplets on the leaves create a higher humidity around the plant, which reduces the rate of transpiration. Transpiration is the process by which water evaporates from the leaves, and it can lead to water loss for the plant.

The formation of roots is not directly related to misting. Instead, root formation is influenced by factors such as adequate water supply, proper soil conditions, and the presence of plant hormones.

An enzyme known as amylase is found in the saliva of humans. This enzyme helps to begin the process of digesting starch molecules in the foods we eat. Which of these BEST describes how enzymes like amylase help in the process of digestion? (AKS 1a1) Question 2 options: Amylase contains the DNA molecules necessary to assemble the proteins needed for digestion. Amylase is a catalyst that speeds up the chemical process of breaking down food molecules. Amylase breaks down the food molecules directly by forming powerful acids. Amylase acts as a buffer to keep the pH of foods at a consistent level.

Which of the following is NOT a phase in the menstrual cycle?A. ovulation
B. luteal
C. gastrulation
D. follicular

Answers

Answer:

The asnwer is C. Gastrulation.

Explanation:

Gastrulation is one of the stages of early embryonic development through which the trilaminar germinative disk is formed, which is a structure with three differentiated embryonic layers that will give rise to all the organs and tissues of the embryo. Gastrulation occurs just after embryo segmentation and implantation, that is, when the embryo has already been divided into many cells, it has become a blastocyst and has managed to nest in the endometrium, beginning pregnancy.

Knowing this, it can be concluded that it is not related to the menstrual cycle.

I believe the correct answer is gastrulation.

Explanation:

The menstrual cycle is divided into the follicular phase, the menstrual phase, ovulation phase and the luteal phase. The Ovulation phase is a phase between the menstrual cycle just before menstruation starts. Gastrulation on the other hand is a phase in embryogenesis after fertilization has occurred.

Further Explanation:

1. Ovulation phase:

This is a phase in between the menstrual cycle and is triggered by a hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland and is called the Luteinizing hormone. The phase is when the egg has matured from the graafian follicle after it bursts. This egg will travel into the fallopian tube by the help of special structures called fimbriae hoping to be fertilized. If fertilized, the egg will attach to the uterus. If not, it is removed as menstrual blood during menstruation. In this stage, the basal body temperature of the lady increases and she will have more "feelings" for sexual intercourse.

2. Luteal phase:

It is triggered by the hormone Luteinizing Hormone (LH) that is released by the anterior pituitary gland. After the graafian follicle releases the ovum, it (graafian follicle) matures into the corpus luteum that produces copious amounts of the hormones progesterone and estrogen to prepare the uterus for implantation by thickening it and making the mucus of the cervix more thinner to allow passage of sperms. If the lady does not become pregnant, the corpus luteum will die and the uterine wall sheds in the menstrual phase.

3. Follicular phase:

This is the first phase and it starts on the first day the lady sees her period. It starts due to the anterior pituitary gland secreting the hormone follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) .The hormone will stimulate formation of ovarian follicles in the ovaries and only one matures and produces estrogen to inhibit all the other eggs from maturing and also thickening the uterus. It lasts for 14 days. The ovarian follicle matures into the graafian follicle that enters the ovulatory phase.

4. Gastrulation:

This is totally unrelated to the menstrual cycle and it is found in embryology after the egg has been fertilized during the menstrual cycle and matures into an embryo. In this stage of embryogenesis, there is formation of the gut of a developing embryo

Which of the following human activities does NOT release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere?Burning fossil fuels
Fishing
Deforestation

Answers

Fishing is a human activities that does not release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

What is human activities?

"Human activities are the various actions for recreation, living, or necessity done by people."

What is carbon dioxide?

  • "Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important heat-trapping (greenhouse) gas."
  • It is released through human activities such as deforestation and burning fossil fuels, as well as natural processes such as respiration and volcanic eruptions.
  • It is one of the greenhouse gases.

What is deforestation?

  • "The action of clearing a wide area of trees."

What are fossil fuels?

  • "Fossil fuels are made from decomposing plants and animals. These fuels are found in the Earth's crust and contain carbon and hydrogen, which can be burned for energy."

By deforestation and burning of fossil fuels large amount of carbon dioxide gases are released into atmosphere.

Hence, carbon dioxide is not released into atmosphere by fishing.

The amount of energy lost at the transition between each trophic level of the pyramid of energy is about _______.

Answers

What is generally said is that only 10% of energy gets retained at transfer, which means that 90 % is lost - this is the correct answer. The "loss" of energy mostly means that the energy gets transformed into heat (since we know that in any system no energy can be lost - this energy has to go somewhere, according to the laws of physics. ) and because not all energy can be absorbed (for example not all tissues are digested by the predator)

In glycolysis, each molecule of glucose that is catabolized gives a net yield of how many molecules of ATP? a) 2 b) 4 c) 32 d) 36

Answers

Final answer:

In glycolysis, the net yield of ATP molecules from the catabolism of each glucose molecule is 2 ATP molecules. Option a.

Explanation:

Adenine, ribose, and three serially bound phosphate groups make up the structure of ATP, which is a nucleoside triphosphate. Since it stores readily usable energy in the connection between the second and third phosphate groups, ATP is frequently referred to as the "energy currency" of the cell.

The net yield of ATP molecules from the catabolism of each glucose molecule in glycolysis is 2 ATP molecules. Glycolysis begins with glucose and ends with two pyruvate molecules, along with a total of four ATP molecules and two molecules of NADH. However, two ATP molecules are used during the process, resulting in a net gain of two ATP molecules. Option a.
