Describe two ways that water moves through the earths biosphere in the water cycle

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: For the first one I would say that the water cycle would be affected because there would be more water in the ground. The roots of the trees soak up the water and keep excellent drainage under the ground. Without trees this mechanism would be all sorts of messed up. Another way it could be affected would be the perspiration from the trees. This might change the humidity of the area.

A stem has nodes and internodes. Which of the following features helps identify nodes on a stem?the presence of buds on the nodes

the origin of roots from nodes

the swollen appearance of nodes

Answers

The answer is the presence of buds on the nodes.

Node is a segment of the stem where buds are attached. A segment between two nodes is known as internode. Node is not swollen, and more important, there are no nodes on the roots, nor
the origin of roots is from nodes. Nodes are easily identified thanks to buds attached to them.

If we inserted an anabolic Tryptophan (trp) operon with GFP for amino acid synthesis instead, what would happen if we grew the bacteria in a agar containing excess tryptophan

Answers

Answer:

Since there is presence of excess tryptophan, the trp operon will be switched off, since the bacterial need not to synthesize.

Explanation:

Understand the following.

The trp operon is a group of gene that encode biosynthetic enzymes for the amino acid tryptophan.

The transcription gene in the operon is switched off when the tryptophan is in excess but is switched on by the bacterium when the tryptophan is low, so that more tryptophan can be produced.

Who was the first to observe and describe cells, by noting that the cells in a wine cork resembles the living quarters of monks or prisoners?

Answers

The correct answer is Robert Hooke.

The invention of the microscope is one of the most essential discoveries ever made by the scientists. Robert Hooke in 1965, witnessed a slice of thin cork beneath the microscope and witnessed minute spaces, which appeared like small rooms combined together.

As they appeared like the tiny quarter of prisoners or monk he named the structures as cells.

This was Scientist Hooke... he was once in jail and that may have been one of the reasons he made the connection to the cells shape and called them what they are today :)

lol we just learned this biology earlier this week and I'm so proud of myself that I remember :)
