One of the ironies that we find in the book "The Metamorphosis" by Kafka is that, while Gregor is the character that suffers the most and is most despised by his family throughout the book, he is actually the kindest and most sympathetic character in the story.
Gregor is a kind character who cares about the well-being of his family more than he cares about himself. He works very hard to give them a life that they can be happy with, even though he hates his job and his lifestyle. On the other hand, Gregor's family is extremely unkind, as they do not care about his unhappiness, or about adding more work to his life.
An example of how this is the case is the way Gregor's father behaves after Gregor's transformation. Gregor's father argued that he was too sick to work, which is why Gregor's family depended solely on him. However, after Gregor's transformation, we see that this was not the case. This implies that Gregor's father could always work, but he chose not to. Another example is the case of Gregor's sister. Even though Gregor was always kind and caring, she is unable to keep on loving him after his transformation. This shows that Gregor's family deserve contempt, and that he is a better person than all of them.
I think that these sentences from the Ernest Hemingway's "In Another Country," show the distrust the soldiers had toward new technology and medicine in the postwar era:
“The major came very regularly to the hospital. I do not think he ever missed a day, although I am sure he did not believe in the machines. There was a time when none of us believed in the machines, and one day the major said it was all nonsense. The machines were new then and it was we who were to prove them. It was an idiotic idea, he said, "a theory like another".”

Explanation:
Pyramus and Thisbe speak to each other through a small crack in the wall, using whispers and gestures to communicate their love.
In the play 'Pyramus and Thisbe', Pyramus and Thisbe speak to one another through a small crack in the wall that separates their houses. They use whispers and gestures to communicate their love for each other.
For example, in Act 5, Scene 1, Pyramus says, 'O kiss me through the hole of this vile wall!' and Thisbe replies, 'I kiss the wall's hole, not your lips at all.' They continue to exchange their messages, with Pyramus expressing his desire and longing, and Thisbe responding in kind.
Although they can't physically touch or see each other, their communication shows their deep affection and the obstacles they face in their forbidden love.
