Ted needs an average of at least 70 on his three history test he has scored already 85 and 60 on two test what is the minimum grade ted need on his third test?

Answers

so average=(total of scores)/(number of tests)
needs at least average of 70
at least is represented as greater than or equal to or the sign (>)
70>(total)/(number oftests)

since we have 3 tests, we have to have 3 scores so
70>(x+y+z)/3
he scored 85 and 60
70>(x+85+60)/3 (doesn't matter which to subsitute)
70>(x+145)/3
multiply obht sides by 3
210>x+145
subtract 145 from both sides
65>x
he needs to get at leas 65 on his third test

Segment JK is tangent to circle P and circle q, what does JK equal? and please, tell me exactly how you got the answer, a reason for every little thing, because I know the answer, I just don't know how to get it. And if you could show a picture with all of your work on it in some easy way to understand, that would be very helpful.

Answers

I'd be more than happy to do all of that, but I can't even start
until I see YOUR picture of the problem.  That will show me
if circle-P and circle-q are overlapping, just touching, separate
from each other, same size, different sizes, their radii, and where
the points J and K are.  THOSE are the little things I need to know
in order to get started.

You want to know the distance between J and K, but you haven't
given us one single distance or size of anything in the problem ...
nothing at all to work with.  That right there makes it impossible.

P = a + (n - 1)b, for b

Answers

P = a + (n - 1)b   Subtratc a from both sides
P - a = (n - 1)b   Divide both sides by (n - 1)
(P - a)/(n - 1) = b   Switch the sides to make it easier to read
b = (P - a)/(n - 1)
The answer is b=P-a-(n+1) all you had to do was the a and the parenthesis from the b and put it on the other side

If the eccentricity of an ellipse is 0.43 and the length of its major axis is 11 units, how far from the center are the foci located?

Answers

Answer:

2.365 unit far away the center are the foci located.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If the eccentricity of an ellipse is 0.43 and the length of its major axis is 11 units.

To find : How far from the center are the foci located?

Solution :

The eccentricity of an ellipse is defined as

e=(c)/(a)

Where, e is the eccentricity

c is the distance from center to focus

a is the distance between focus to vertex.

We have given,

Eccentricity of an ellipse is 0.43 i.e. e=0.43

The distance between focus to vertex is the half of the length of its major axis.

i.e.a=(11)/(2)

Substitute in the formula,

0.43=(c)/((11)/(2))

c=0.43* (11)/(2)

c=2.365

Therefore, 2.365 unit far away the center are the foci located.
