How do fungi make people sick?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Fungi are recycling agents, helping to decompose dead material e.g. plants and animals, to put the nutrients back into the soil. Some fungi feed off living material, causing disease to plants (dutch elm disease in trees) and animals. Fungi can cause diseases such as; athlete's foot, thrush and ringworm. Fungi may sometimes cause serious infections in people who are especially susceptible to infections because their immune system is damaged. We also feel ill because of our body's response to infection.

Answer:

Some fungi reproduce through tiny spores in the air. You can inhale the spores or they can land on you. As a result, fungal infections often start in the lungs or on the skin. You are more likely to get a fungal infection if you have a weakened immune system or take antibiotics.

Which of the following is a true statement about tectonic plates?a.they located in the molten layer beneath the earth first.
b.all tectonic plates are located at the earth's core
c.they're located approximately 10 meters below the surface of the ocean.
d.all of the earths landmass rests on tectonic plates.

Answers

The true statement is - d. all of the earth's landmass rests on tectonic plates.

The Earth’s lithosphere is a rigid outer part of the earth comprise of crust and top or upper mantles. The lithosphere is made up of tectonic plates. It constitutes all floor plates including oceanic floor plates and continental plates.

  • The tectonic plates are present on the top of the hot molten layer of the mantle.
  • It starts at the seafloor of the ocean.
  • As it is the part of the lithosphere it all landmasses rest on tectonic plates
  • Tectonic plates contain sediments that contain information about the Earth’s history

Thus, the true statement is - d. all of the earth's landmass rests on tectonic plates.

I would go with D as it is closest to correct. Every part of the surface of the Earth is a tectonic plate though. The plates vary in thickness, but all of the surface of the Earth is made up of tectonic plates, including the parts under the ocean. Technically, the Earth's landmass does not rest on the tectonic plates, it IS the tectonic plates, but it is the closest to correct here in my opinion.

Traumatic injuries, such as that suffered by Christopher Reeves (an actor that portrayed Superman years ago) can affect a variety of functions of the body. The dysfunctions are dependent upon the level in the spinal cord the damage occurred and what aspect(s) of the cord is damaged. In this posting, you are to describe the organization schemes of the spinal cord (both anterior-posterior as well as internally).

Answers

The spinal cord is divided into 31 segments with 31 pairs of nerves exiting the cord - 8 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar, 5 sacral, and 1 coccygeal nerve.
In respect of internal structure of the cord, there are white matter in the periphery and gray matter inside. In the center there is a thin canal filled with cerebrospinal fluid.

What BEST describes the DNA in two daughter bacteria cells? A. halved B. doubled C. identical D. unrelated

Answers

I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option C. The DNA in two bacteria cells can be best described as identical. As long as, there are no mutations or horizontal gene transfer. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.

Answer:

The correct answer would be C. identical.

Bacteria divides into the two daughter cells through the process called binary fission that is, a type of asexual reproduction.

Thus, it does not involve the formation as well as fusion of gametes.

Before the cell division, the DNA of the bacteria gets doubled through mitotic division so that it can be divided equally into two daughter cells.

Thus, both the daughter cells get identical DNA.
