Both petroleum and coal are made up of complex carbon-based molecules, and both originated with living creatures of some kind. Both are vital sources of energy for the modern world and both were formed by geologic processes over millions of years. However, petroleum was mainly formed from the remains of ocean-dwelling microorganisms. Coal, on the other hand, originated from decayed vegetation in ancient swamps and bogs. In any case, it took millions of years for both coal and oil to be produced. This is the case because it took that much time for overlying sediments to produce the unimaginable heat and pressure that would one day allow us to harvest these energy resources. 3. B.A high school graduate is 37 percent less likely to be unemployed than a high school dropout. C.A high school graduate earns $185 more per week on average than a high school dropout. D.A high school graduate is 63 percent less likely to be unemployed than a high school dropout.

Answers

Answer:

B. A high school graduate is 37 percent less likely to be unemployed than a high school dropout.

Explanation:

Apart from the fact that high school graduates have presumably less chances to face unemployment, the truth is in certain jobs high school graduates earn more than their colleagues without diplomas. Besides, many employers prefer to hire a person with at least a high school education. Similarly, colleges and universities will not accept a student without a high school diploma. Finally, graduating from high school demonstrates determination and willingness to take advantage of opportunities.

advise a friend who responses to conflict by avoidance is not healthy in sustaining positive relationships

Answers

It is not healthy to respond to conflict in avoidance. When a problem first occurs when our emotions go up, our intelligence tends to go down, so it is best to wait a while if you feel you are not coming from a neutral place. But conflicts should always be effectively communicated and addressed to sustain healthy relationships.
Actually venting problems with the person may help them understand that you dont like or wont tolerate his or her behavior and can help understand not to do it in the future with other peers. It's never good to be shy and scared please speak up.

Find the pair of words that has the same kind of relationship as the numbered pair. 12. caper : capricious ::a. apis : obstinate
b. canis : canine
c. leo : feline
d. avis : apiary

Answers

Although I am not completely sure, I believe this analogy has to do with the root word. In capricious, the root word is caper, so, following this example, I would say the correct answer is B) canis : canine, because canis is the root word of canine.
