How do I solve this complex multi-step equation 2x + (-2 )= 10x - 4 ?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: All you have to remember is this. Reverse the operation. For example on this problem there is a -2 right? So reverse the operation and (REMEMBER:Always do what you did on one side to the other side) then you would have +2 on both sides. You do the same for variables and all of the numbers and result with 8x=2, so divide by 8 and get x=1/4
Answer 2
Answer: 2x-2=10x-4
-8x=-2
x=1/4

A discount store has a special: 8 cans of juice for a dollar. A shopper decides that since the number of cans purchased is 8 times the number of dollars spent, the cost is the independent variable and the number of cans is the dependent variable. Do you agree? Explain

Answers

Nope. Number of cans is independent variable & the cost is dependent variable on it.

Let the number of cans = x
Then, y = 8x
where, y = 1 dollar,

Here, we can see, y (cost) is dependent on x (number of cans)

Hope this helps!

independent variable effects (or affects?) the value of the dependent variable
any change in the indepdent vairable forces a change on the depdent variable
it doesn't always go either way

number of cans=8 times dollars spent
the number of cans does effect the amount you have to pay
but the amount you have effects the number of cans you can buy
the amount you pay effects how many cans you can buy

normally, independent is input and depdendent is output
input x money, get y cans
not
input y cans, get x money
it could be argued that
input y cans, have to pay x money
but it is more of an ouput, more than a bill

so I do not agree

What is the 10th term of the sequence:5,9,13,17

Answers

The pattern is add 4
5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, 29, 33, 37, and 41.
Your answer is 41.

5,9,13,17,..........

The difference between each number is 4. Now lets continue the sequence.

5,9,13,17,21,25,29,33,37,41,......

Now I continued the sequence to 10th term. The 10th term is 41.

What is 9 copies of 3.65

Answers

Answer:  32.85 is 9 copies of 3.65

Explanation:

According to question we are asked to determine the value of 9 copies of 3.65 which means we have add 3.65 nine times:

3.65 + 3.65 + 3.65 + 3.65 +3.65 + 3.65 +3.65 3.65 + 3.65 = 3.65(1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1)=3.65* (9)=32.85

So,the nine copies of 3.65 is 32.85.

32.85 is the answer you just multiply

How do you reduce 6/36

Answers

You reduce it to 1/6 because 6 goes into 6 once and 6 goes into 36 six times giving you 1/6
Find the gcd (greatest common divisor). In other words, what's the biggest number that fits into both 6 and 36? The answer is 6, so divide both 6 and 36 by 6 and you get 1/6.
