1. If you get 6/14 on a test, what percent did you get? 2. If you get 8/15 on a test, what percent did you get?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: percent means per 100
set up
1) 6/14 = x/100 solve for x,

2) 8/15 = x/100 solve for x

x is the amount out of 100 = the percent you got on the test

A bag contains 6 red marbles, 2 white marbles, and 1 gray marble. You randomly pick out a marble, record its color, and put it back in the bag. You repeat this process 45 times. How many white or gray marbles do you expect to get ?

Answers

You should expect 5. There is one grey marble out of 9 total, and that can be expressed as 1/9. Since you repeat it 45 times, it's 1/9 45 times, or 1/9(45)

(1)/(9) * (45)/(1)

1*45 is 45

9*1 is 9.

45/9 is 5.

This works as follows; 7×1=7+8=15-9+7

And another, but without regard for PEMDAS:

7+8×1-9=6

This works as follows; 7+8=15×1=15-9=6

The amount of rhubarb in the original recipe is 3 1/2 cups. Using what you know of whole numbers and what you know of fractions explain how you could triple that mixed number

Answers

Answer:

10(1)/(2) cups.

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of rhubarb in the original recipe is = 3(1)/(2) cups.

                                                                             = (7)/(2) cups

Using this amount we have to triple that mixed number.

So we have to multiply this fraction by 3.

(7)/(2) × 3

= (21)/(2)

= 10(1)/(2) cups

We will get 10(1)/(2) cups when we triple the number of 3(1)/(2)

Well first things first is you got to turn 3 1/2 into a mixed number. All i did was multiply 3x2 and added 1 which gave me 7 so that was my numerator. And for my denominator i kept the 2. So all you got to do now is multiply the fraction by 3 and make sure you put a 1 under 3. It gives you 21/2 so just divide that since its improper.  And then your answer would be 10 1/2. Hope this helped you!
