Will cell theory ever become the law of cells?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Cell theory will never become a law of cell. This is because theory and law are two different things and one can not develop and become the other.
When a scientist observe a phenomenon to which he did not have an answer, he will formulate an hypothesis about the observation and set out to conduct an experiment to confirm his hypothesis. If his hypothesis is confirmed, then the hypothesis become a theory, especially after it has been confirmed by other scientists too.
But a law refers to a natural phenomenon which have been observed to occur in the same fashion, for a very long period of time. For instance, the gravity force will always force an object throw up to come down. That observation is part of the Newton's law of motion.

AAC –GCC – GTC –CGC – TAGIf a mutation occurs, leaving 12 bases, what is the maximum number of amino acids that could be coded
for by this DNA segment? [1]

Answers

If a mutation occurs, leaving 12 bases, the maximum number of amino acids that could be coded for by this DNA segment is 12.

What is mutation?

"It is any change in the nucleotide sequence of a DNA."

What is DNA

it is a hereditary material composed of repeating units known as deoxyribonucleotide.

What are codons?

It is a three-nucleotide sequence in a DNA or RNA molecule that together code for an amino acid.

What is the maximum number of amino acids that could be coded for by 12 bases?

  • three-nucleotide sequence code for 1 amino acid.
  • 12 nucleotides will code for: (1)/(3) *12 = 4
