Marcus can choose between a monthly salaryof $1,500 plus 5.5% of sales or $2,400 plus 3% of sales. He expects sales
between $5,000 and $10,000 a month. Which salary option should he
choose? Explain

Answers

Marcus should choose $2,400 plus 3% of sales.

His salary is composed of a fixed salary and a variable salary.

Fixed Salary   +   Variable Salary  = Monthly Salary
2400                   150 (3% of 5k)    = 2350  - minimum salary he'll receive
2400                   300 (3% of 10k)  = 2700  - maximum salary he'll receive

VS

Fixed Salary    + Variable Salary  = Monthly Salary
1500                  275 (5.5% of 5k) = 1775 - minimum salary he'll receive
1500                  550 (5.5% of 10k) = 2,050 - maximum salary he'll receive

As you can see, despite the high percentage of sales offered, it is not a good option because the fixed salary is low as compared to the other option. Even the maximum salary he'll receive under the option $1500 is way lower than the minimum salary he'll receive under the option $2400.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

F: 4x*2x = 8x^2

O: (4x)*3  = 12x

I : 8*2x    = 16x

L: 8*3       = 24

End of First step

Just in case you want the answer

8x^2 + 28x + 24

And to take out the common factor

4(2x^2 + 7x + 6)

Answer:

(4x + 8) (2x+3)

FOIL

First- (4x)(2x)= 8x2

Outer- (4x) (+3)= +12x

Inner- (8) (2x)=16x

Last- (8) (+3)=+24

A train has an average speed of 18 miles per hour. How long will it take to travel 270 miles?

Answers

It will take 15 hours. Because the train has a speed of 18 mph, you just have to divide 270 by 18 which makes 15. The train goes 18 mph, so it is 15 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

1.) First, you need to find how many miles per hour (18), and how many miles (270)

2.) Next, you will need to divide 270 by 18, or 270/18.

3.) This will show you how many 18's you can get out of 270, or how many hours it will take to go 270 miles.

4.) After dividing, you will get 15.

Therefore, it will take you 15 hours to get from point A to point B.

a store owner is arranging clothing on racks. She has 30 sweaters, 45 shirts and 15 pairs of jeans. She wants to put the same number of items on each rack, with only one type of item on each. How many items can she put on a rack?

Answers

I think what the teacher wants is 15  which is the greatest common factor of all three numbers and the factors of 15 are
1 x 15 and 3 x 5 so the she can put one of each, or she can put 3 of each,
or she can put 5 of each , or she can put 15 of each.

The problem is unclear however because as worded she could put 2 sweaters, 2 shirts and 2 pair of jeans.  I think the teacher wants all the jeans used.  The number 1,3,5 and 15 will use up all of the jeans.
1 jean on 15 racks
or 3 jeans on 5 racks
or 5 jeans on 3 racks
or 15 jeans on one rack

These are the sort of ambiguous word problems 4th graders are exposed to on a daily basis.  As the gentleman mentioned, the teacher expects 15, the largest common factor but 1 on each rack fits as well. It should have read “what’s the maximum number of the same item can he/she place on the racks?”

Write each fraction as a percentage

Answers

Hi there!

To convert a fraction to a percentage you need to first convert the fraction to a decimal number. To convert a fraction to a decimal number you need to treat the fraction like a division problem.

(1)/(3) as a division problem would be 1 divided by 3, which is:

1 ÷ 3 = 0.3333333...

Now to covert a decimal to a percent all you do is move the decimal point over to the hundreds place, so it will look like this:

33.3

I will be rounded down because it is less then 5. Now just add a percent sign on the end and that is your answer! I should look like this:

33.3%

Your friend, ASIAX

1.3 I think cause that's a percentage

How do u do:
8/11(n-10)=64

Answers

firstly multiply the 8 by (n-10)
8(n-10) = 8n-80
form equation
(8n-80)/11 = 64
multiply both sides by 11
8n - 80 = 64 x 11
8n - 80 = 704
than add 80 to both sides
8n - 80 + 80 = 704 + 80
8n = 784
divide both sides by 8
8n/8 = 784/8
n = 98
