Answer:

The best answer to the question: Which of the following events took place during Jefferson´s term in office, would be: C: He increased the power of the Supreme Court.

Explanation:

Thomas Jefferson assumed the presidency for the first time in 1801, and did not end his office until 1809, as he was reelected for second term. Jefferson was one of the main figureheads of the Democratic-Republican Party and some of his beliefs on equality among white men were highly criticized by some of this fellow Founding Fathers, particularly because they upended certain basic principles of the new nation. Among those beliefs he had were the need to cut the power of the federal government, and to that end, he cut back on military spending, and reduced the size of the government. What was most iconic during his term in office, however was that for the first time in history, the Supreme Court interfered in the way that the government worked and through the ruling in the court case Marbury vs. Madison, judicial review of Congress acts was established. It was the first time that the Supreme Court declared itself as the rightful interpreter of the Constitution, and not Congress and repealed an act of Congress. In 1802, furthermore, Jefferson pushed through Congress the Judiciary Act, which upended the Judiciary Act proposed by earlier president John Adams, in 1801.

Identify what is wrong with each italicized pronoun reference. If you park by the fire hydrant, they will give you a ticket.
1.)indefinite pronoun: replace with a specific noun
2.)placed too far from antecedent
3.)remote reference

Answers

If you park by the fire hydrant, they will give you a ticket. The pronoun "they" looks like it refer to "the fire hydrant". This is incorrect. A fire hydrant is a singular thing; therefore, it cannot be replaced if the pronoun they. "If you park by the fire hydrant" becomes a dangling modifier that needs a correct noun to modify. Hence, "they" is an (1) indefinite pronoun that needs to be replaced with a specific noun. We can then say instead: If you park by the fire hydrant, the officer will give you a ticket.
