Earl needs to fill juice cups for his little brother's birthday party. There are 25 juice cups and each juice cup holds 12 fluid ounces. The juice comes in 1-gallon bottles. How many 1-gallon bottles of juice will Earl need to purchase?(1 quart = 32 fluid ounces, 1 gallon = 4 quarts)
a. 1 bottle
b. 2 bottles
c.3 bottles
d. 4 bottles

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Ok so first we need to find how many fluid ounces all the cups hold in totoal.
so 25*12=300
So we have 300 ounces in the cups and 300 ounces is around 2.34 gallons. So we need 2.34 gallons to fill all the cups, and one bottle is one gallon, so if we get two bottles we have 2 gallons, which is a little under the amount we need. So we would need to buy 3 bottles (3 gallons) to have enough to drink.

Hope that helpes:) if it dosn't make sense PM me and I can try to explain better :)

Circumference of 1 table:
C = πd = 140π = 439.82 cm

Each person needs 60 cm, so divide the circumference by 60 to find the number of people who can sit at each table.
439.82/60 = 7.33

So at most 7 people can sit at each table.

7*12 = 84 so the room can only hold 84 people.

You're right

Distribute -3 to get rid of the parentheses.
Add 15 to both sides.
Now divide -3 on both sides.
You have your answer!
-3(n+5)=12
-3n-15=12

A cyclist planned to ride 9 1/2 miles but only managed to travel 3 7/8 miles. What fraction of his planned trip did he travel? Can anyone help with this please?

Answers

Answer:

(31)/(76)

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that a cyclist wanted to ride 9(1)/(2) miles but only managed to travel 3(7)/(8) and we want to know what fraction he actually travelled so we have to divide the two fractions so

3(7)/(8) ÷ 9(1)/(2)

→ First convert to improper fractions

(31)/(8) ÷ (19)/(2)

→ Because it's dividing fractions we have to remember the rule of flipping the second fraction so then it becomes a multiplication

(31)/(8) × (2)/(19)

→ Simplify

(31)/(76)

So the cyclist had travelled only (31)/(76) of his planned trip

Answer:

The cyclist traveled 31/76 of his planned trip.
