-5v-6=3v+10 i really hate math but i need help

Answer 1
Answer:
OK.  We could have gotten along nicely without the comment.

-5v - 6 = 3v + 10

I think what you're trying to find is the number that ' v ' must be
in order to make the equation a true statement.  That number
is called the 'solution' of the equation.

To find it, you have to massage and manipulate the equation around
until you have ' v ' and nothing else on one side.  You can do anything
you want to a whole side of the equation, but whatever you do to one
side, you must immediately do to the other side.  Here's one way you
could go about it:

                                            -5v - 6 = 3v + 10

Add  5v  to each side:                 -6 = 8v + 10

Subtract  10  from each side:    -16 = 8v

Divide each side by  8 :             -2  =  v

Now, was that so painful ?

He should have used the median and IQR because of the outlier.

He should have compared the median and mean.

He should have compared the MAD and IQR.

What is the quotient of −42 and −6?

Answers

Answer:

7

Step-by-step explanation:

Two negatives cancel out, so you divide just like normal 42÷6 is 7

The quotient is 7 (not negative as two negative numbers will cancel)

A _________ is a value that describes the center of a data set and includes the mean, median, and mode.Fill in the blank please:)

central tendency is a value that describes the center of a data set and includes the mean, median, and mode.

And just in case you don't know:

Mean is the sum of all the numbers divided by how many numbers there are. Basically the average.

Mode is the number that occurs the most times.

Median is the middle number when you write the numbers from lowest to greatest.
A central tendency is a value that describes the center of a set and includes the mean, median, and mode.

Mean is Something which is intermediate or in the middle; an intermediate value or range of values; a medium..

Median
The quantity or value at the midpoint of a set of values, such that the variable is equally likely to fall above or below it; the middle value of a discrete series arranged in magnitude (or the mean of the middle two terms when there is an even number of terms).

Mode is t

Determine the constant of variation for the direct variation given.R varies directly with S. When S is 16, R is 80.

16

Answers

Answer:

The constant of variation is k=5

Step-by-step explanation:

Proportions

A direct proportion is a relation between variables where their ratio is a constant value. This means that if y and x are proportional, then:

y=k\cdot x

Where k is the constant of proportionality.

We know R varies directly with S. Their relationship is:

R=k\cdot S

We also have when S=16, R=80. Thus:

80=k\cdot 16

Solving for k:

k=80/16=5

The constant of variation is k=5

Two students start a club the first week of school. Each member invites three new members the second week of school. Each of these new members then invites three additional members the following week. If the pattern of each new member inviting three new members each week continues, how many members will be in the club after five weeks

Answers

I'll just make a manual computation on how 1 member recruits his members until week 5. Then multiply the sum by 2.
                                old      new
1:   1
2:   1 x 3 = 3 ⇒        1         3       *only new members recruit 3 more
3:   3 x 3 = 9 ⇒        4         9
4:   9 x 3 = 27⇒     13       27
5: 27 x 3 = 81 ⇒    40       81

40 + 81 = 121. Total number of members under 1 founding member.

121 x 2 founding members = 242 total number of members within 5 weeks.
