Find the fifth term of a sequence represented by f(n)=5n-2

Answers

The fifth term of a sequence that is represented by f(n) = 5n - 2 will be 23.

What is a function?

A function is an assertion, concept, or principle that establishes an association between two variables. Functions may be found throughout mathematics and are essential for the development of significant links.

The sequence is formulated in the function f(n) is given as,

f(n) = 5n - 2

The fifth term of a sequence is calculated as,

f(5) = 5 x 5 - 2

f(5) = 25 - 2

f(5) = 23

The fifth term of a sequence that is represented by f(n) = 5n - 2 will be 23.

More about the function link is given below.

Hello there!

My best guess would be to plug in 5 into n.

So:

f (n) = 5n-2

f (5) = 5 (5) -2

f (5) = 25-2

f (5) = 23

This is my GUESS. I'm not sure how to do this problem (it's been a while since I've done this).

So PLEASE get a second opinion or ask a teacher!

Hope this helped!

of the 95 children in 6th grade 3/5 went to holiday parties how many students went to holiday parties in all

Answers

The best thing to do firstly is to find out what 1/5 of 95 is.
You have to divide 95 by 5.
95/5= 19
Therefore, 1/5 of the children is 19.
As you're looking for 3/5, you have to multiply 19 by 3
19*3= 57
Therefore, 57 of the students went to holiday parties
Hope this helps :)
In this question, there are several information's of immense importance. Based on these information's, it is easy to get to the required answer. There are 95 children in 6th grade and out of them 3/5th went to holiday parties.
Then
Number of students that went to holiday parties = (3/5) * 95
                                                                             = 57
So 57 students out of the 65 students in Grade 6 went for holiday parties. This way it is also possible to find the number of students that did not go for the holiday party. Subtracting 57 from the total of 65 students gives 8 and this is the number of students that did not go for the holiday party.

Give the Independent variable and dependent variable and constants

Answers

Independent variable is what is being changed in the experiment. In this case, the independent variable is the microWave popcorn. Dependent variable is what is being measured. In this case, we are measuring the amount of butter. Constant is what stays the same in the experiment. The constant is same amount of butter, same amount of popcorn , same temperature and so on and so forth.

a triangular shape has an area of 70 square inches the height is 8 and three fourths write and solve an equation to find the length of the base

Answers

Area formula of a triangle is:
A = (1)/(2) bh
We know the area and the height, so substitute to find the base

A = 70 m²
h = 8.75 m or 8 (3)/(4) m  (its the same thing)

70 = (1)/(2) × b × 8.75
70 = 4.375b
Divide by 4.375 on either sides to isolate b
(70)/(4.375) = (4.375b)/(4.375)
4.375 and 4.375 cancels out

16 m = b

The base of this triangle is 16 m
