How did the division of Europe between Catholicism and Protestantism affect the distribution of religions in the new world?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: The division between the Catholic countries and the Protestant countries was seen in the religious colonies and missionaries  that came to the New World. The colonies settled by English, Dutch, German had more tendency to be Protestant (Anglican, Puritan, Pilgrim, French Hugenout, Baptist). Many of these were located along the eastern seaboard from Maine to Georgia and inward to Southern states such as the Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and parts of Louisiana. The Spaniards and Catholic French made their settlements along the St. Lawrence River and in the Canadian areas. Much of the Great Lakes area were Catholic due to the French culture. The Spaniards settled Florida, New Orleans and Mexico area which extended into much of the western US at that time. Catholic missionaries had missions throughout Mexico, California,Arizona, New Mexico and some farther north. South America had a far greater Catholic population because of the Spanish and Portuguese influence. When people began to move out of the original colonies to make new towns then both  the religions were present and new ones developed.

What's the xyz affair

Answers

XYZ affair was a political affair in 1797 and 1798 involving United States and France.

It was a situation in which war could have been declared. It started with financial problems of the French government and their decision to seize American merchant ships. A diplomatic mission was working towards a de-escalation of the conflict, but the French side demanded bribes, which the US didn't want to grant.

The conflict finally was settled in a diplomatic way and a war was avoided.

In the years of 1797 and 1798, the United States got into a diplomatic incident that was between France. The XYZ affair led to the undeclared Quasi-War. The attempt was to avert war with Great Britain. The XYZ affair started because France allowed an order for the seizure of American merchant ships in the year 1796. The XYZ affair was a very unsuccessful diplomatic incident and this contributes to the hostilities between both the United States of America and France.

I thin you are referring to Haitians or HAITI's people. If so, then the best answer is b. The culture of Haiti's people is composed mainly of a mix of African, European, and Carribean origins. Haitians have features that are largely similar to Africans, however, their customs can be said to be influenced by the European and Carribean.
