CHAPTER I, an excerpt From Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
The coming of the Green Knight
Now I will say no more of the service, but that ye may know there was no lack, for there drew newe a venture that the folk might well have left their labour to gaze upon. As the sound of the music ceased, and the first course had been fitly served, there came in at the hall door one terrible to behold, of stature greater than any on earth; from neck to loin so strong and thickly made, and with limbs so long and so great that he seemed even as a giant. And yet he was but a man, only the mightiest that might mount a steed; broad of chest and shoulders and slender of waist, and all his features of like fashion; but men marveled much at his colour, for he rode even as a Knight, yet was Green all over.
The fashion of the Knight
For he was clad all in Green, with a straight coat, and a mantle above; all decked and lined with fur was the cloth and the hood that was thrown back from his locks and lay on his shoulders. Hose had he of the same green, and spurs of bright gold with silken fastenings richly worked; and all his vesture was verily green. Around his waist and his saddle were bands with fair stones set upon silken work, 'there too long to tell all the trifles that were embroided thereon- birds and insects in gay guards of green and gold.
What is the best description of the mood created by the setting of this passage?
A. Humorous, because the Knight was not invited to the part
B. Peaceful, because the Knight brought a sense of calm to the party
C. Threatening, because the Knight showed up suddenly at the party
D. Uplifting, because the Knight who showed up is interesting and glamorous.
I think it's C or D.

1) What gives New York-style bagels
their color?

Answers

New York bagels are better than different bagels because of two things: The New York water, which is a key fixing, in addition to the manner in which the bagels are cooked.

Hard water hardens gluten, while delicate water mellow it, making the batter goopier. This creates a more tasty, chewy bagel.

The thought is that New York's water has low centralizations of calcium and magnesium, making it truly delicate. Harder water reinforces the gluten in the batter, bringing about extreme bagels.

Malt powder don't preclude the malt powder, it is the thing that gives the bagels the mark bagel flavor and further develops the mixture's surface. Without it, the bagels will possess a flavor like bagel-formed bread.

However, assuming getting malt powder isn't a choice, supplant it with earthy colored sugar.

The bagels served at Einstein Bros are quite not New York style. Throughout the long term they've taken a wide range of freedoms and extended their contributions to incorporate everything from works of art like everything and sesame to bagels studded with chocolate chips and others finished off with jalapeno and cheddar.

New York-style bagels get their color from the boiling and baking process, as well as ingredients like honey or malt syrup.

New York-style bagels get their color primarily from the baking process. The dough is boiled before being baked, which gives the bagels a chewy texture and a shiny, golden-brown crust. The boiling helps set the crust, creating a barrier that holds moisture and prevents the bagels from becoming pale in color during baking.

Additionally, some New York-style bagels are made with ingredients that contribute to their color. For example, bagels made with honey or malt syrup will have a darker and richer color compared to plain bagels. These ingredients also add flavor and sweetness to the bagels.

D. Americans need to work harder to become less dependent on coal, oil, and gas for our increasing energy needs.

Explanation:

The above was the right answer to the question. This is because, despite the facts that Americans are willing to switch to using alternative energies, but they are still heavily dependent on the non-renewable energy sources.

There is need for them to work hard towards separating themselves from becoming increasingly dependent on such energy sources that are non renewable like coal.

Answers

I would also have to say B is the correct answer. Your verb is was and it agrees with chance, which in this case is your noun because at success would be a prepositional phrase. Small is an adjective that describes chance.

Hopefully this helps and good luck!!  :)

B. The other sentences either have singular subjects with plural verbs (the sun... were shining;       don't a combination... make) or plural subjects with singular verbs (shoes... was).
