WHAT ARE FACTS ABOUT MEDUSA

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: When you look into her eyes she turns you into stone, she once was a pretty woman and her hair is made of snakes.
Answer 2
Answer: She was originally known as the fairest woman in Greece, but then when Zeus came down and cheated on Hera, his wife, with Medusa in Hera's temple, Hera became outraged. Since she was unable to touch Zeus, since he was king, she instead turned Medusa and her two other sisters, known as the Gorgons, into the most foul looking creatures in the world. While Medusa was mortal, her sisters were not, but Medusa had it worse off. Whenever she would meet somebody's gaze, she would turn them to stone from her ugliness. From this, she was put into hiding in a cave with her sisters. She was there for many years, when Perseus, out on a quest (another story), went and cut her head off in her and her sisters' sleep. He was not turned to stone because he had a shield granted to him by Athena, goddess of wisdom and warfare, which would reflect the image of Medusa so that he would not have to look her in the eyes. When he cut off her head, her blood created Pegasus, the horse with wings. With his flying sandals, also granted by Athena, he was able to escape the Gorgons without being noticed, and could fly over the sea. When he reached land and put the head down, the snakes from her hair detatched themselves, and created the first snakes on land. Perseus put the head into a bag, and returned to the king which had sent him on his quest. When the tyrannical king asked to see the head as proof of his completion of the quest that should not have been able to be completed, the king met the gaze of the glazed eyes of Medusa, and was turned to stone, therefore proving that her magical curse was still in affect. The rest is the story of Perseus. If you want to know more about that, then ask a different question.

Why did northerners in congress accept California's application for statehood while southerners rejected it

Answers

I believe because California wanted to enter the union as a free state, free state means banning slavery. This made the southerners upset because California goes from north to south and if California were to be admitted as a free state, it would violate the Missouri Compromise, which drew the border to determine free states and slave states.

Why did the soldiers trains for months the invasion

Answers

Answer:

Soldiers trained rigorously before the D-Day invasion. This was a one shot opportunity that would be extremely hard to duplicate. They had to be on point, prepared and ready to do whatever it takes. Training increases your chances of surviving and completing your assignment as best as possible. So in order to be in their best shape, they trained for months to prepare for that invasion.

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay poll tax or other tax."—Twenty-fourth AmendmentWhat was the effect of this amendment?

It stopped states from preventing former slaves and poor people from voting.
It stopped any state from disallowing women to vote in national elections.
It allowed any state to charge a fee to someone who wished to vote.
It allowed states to limit who could vote by age, gender, or race.

Answers

The poll tax was a tax that was often used to prevent African Americans and poor people from voting. Hence option A is correct.

It was a regressive tax, meaning that it took a larger proportion of income from poor people than from wealthy people. The poll tax was also a discriminatory tax because it was often used to prevent African Americans from voting.

The Twenty-fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified on January 23, 1964. It prohibits both the national government and the states from denying access to voting in federal elections due to failure to pay a poll tax or any other form of tax.

The Twenty-fourth Amendment effectively ended the use of the poll tax in federal elections. This amendment had a significant impact on the right to vote because it allowed more people to participate in the political process.

The other options are incorrect. The Twenty-fourth Amendment did not stop any state from disallowing women to vote in national elections.

It also did not allow any state to charge a fee to someone who wished to vote. Finally, the Twenty-fourth Amendment did not allow states to limit who could vote by age, gender, or race.

Therefore, option A) It stopped states from preventing former slaves and poor people from voting is correct.
