Do you think that artworks should undergo restoration? If during the restoration the artwork changes, what does this mean for the original artist’s vision? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of restoring artworks.

Answers

Answer:

I think the practice of restoring artworks is a very dangerous game. Artwork that has been around for centuries cannot be replaced and if they were to, somehow, get messed up during the restoration process then that is a large chunk of history that has been lost. However, I do believe that (if done right) artwork restoration can turn out beautiful as long as the person restoring the artwork is highly skilled and trained within this profession. Personally, I don't believe that the original artist's vision has been changed, just as long as nothing has been changed on the artwork (example: adding a bird or a tree to the painting that was not there before). In conclusion, if done right, art restoration can be a great thing but there is always the factor of danger added in.

Symbolic proportion is ________________ a. the relative size relationship between religious figures and other part of a work of art. b. the apparent disproportionate relationship between objects within a piece. c. the manipulation of visual characteristics in order to emphasize one specific figure. d. the use of geometric arrangements to show religious imagery or to tell stories. Please select the best answer from the choices provided

Answers

Symbolic proportion is the apparent disproportionate relationship between objects within a piece.

The answer to this question is option b. It is the creation of an apparent object. This action is deliberate, and disproportionately done in order to send specific messages.

This can be explained as deliberately emphasizing objects in a piece of art because of what they symbolize or their importance.

In an artwork for instance, religious figures may be used to create a bigger picture due to their importance compared to other elements that might make up the work.

This is done to show their symbolic  importance
