Wind erosion occurs at a faster rate in deserts than in places with a thick layer of vegetation covering the ground. Why do you think that this is the case?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

The wind erosion is defined as the removal of soil particles from a particular area. This erosion mostly takes place in the region where there is less vegetation cover and less amount of rainfall. Presence of vegetation helps in controlling the rate of wind erosion as the plants acts as a barrier to the wind, thereby not allowing it to carry the soil particles with them. But absence of water and vegetation makes the soil dry and the wind removes these particles easily loosing the fertility of the soil.

The wind generally carry the materials by the method of suspension, in which the extremely lighter materials like silt and clay are transported from one place to another.

This is the reason why wind erosion is rapid in the desert areas compared to the places which are rich in thick vegetation cover.

Answer 2
Answer: Because there is no vegetation to block the wind from eroding the earth.

Why are objects that fall near Earth’s surface rarely in free fall?

Answers

Answer:

The correct answer is because of gravity and air resistance.

Explanation:

When we speak of free fall, we are referring to something that falls "into the void", and which has no force to oppose such a fall.

Due to the gravity and atmosphere of our planet, this situation is not possible. When an object falls close to our surface, it is very difficult to do it in free fall. Gravity is going to pull this object down, which along with air resistance, will cause the object to fall at a constant speed.

Objects that fall near the Earth's surface are rarely in free fall because the gravity of the Earth is affecting them too much.
Free fall is what most people would call "floating," as an object in free fall has gravity acting upon it enough to hold it in a general distance, but not enough to pull it closer. For example, the moon is in free fall, as the gravity of Earth keeps it close, but isn't strong enough to bring it much closer from where it's at.

What are the positive and negative aspects of a zoo or safari park?

Answers

In my opinion, the only advantage is that endangered species will be given thechance to reproduce and their numbers will increase. Apart from that, I disagreewith any animals being caged or kept in even a very large fenced area. However,it doesn't take a genius to realise that there are people (poachers) out therethat will do anything to kill off these precious animals for money, endangered or not.

Positive: You get to see different animals, see all kinds of habitats, learn new facts about all the animals and see them maybe in action!

Negative: They might be sleeping, In a cage or fence so they can't get out, restricted.
