To find a fraction of a fraction, what you have to do is multiply. You're looking for (3)/(4) of (2)/(3) so you're equation is going to be

(3)/(4) × (2)/(3)  =

To multiply fractions, you multiply straight across (numerator x numerator, denominator x denominator):
(3)/(4) × (2)/(3)  = (6)/(12) quart or (1)/(2) quart

This makes more sense when you draw a picture. First starting by drawing what you're taking a fraction of, which is (2)/(3). Then you split the entire whole into fourths to find what (3)/(4) is. See the attached picture. :)

She has 2/3 quart and only used 3/4 of it.

If she had used twice as much, you'd multiply by 2, but instead, she used only 3/4 of it, so you'll only need to multiply her amount by 3/4, like so:

2/3*3/4 = (2*3)/(3*4) = 6/12 = 1/2

Answer is: 1/2 quart

A).
Area of a rectangle = (length) x (width)

         72 square feet = (9 feet) x (width)

Divide each side of this equation by (9 feet)
and you have:

            (72 square feet) / (9 feet)  =  width .

You can finish this off and find the width.

Once you know both the length and the width,
you're ready to go on to part-B.

B).
The perimeter of a rectangle is the distance all the way around it.
If you start at one corner and walk all the way around it, you'll
have to walk the length 2 times, and the width 2 times.

You know both the length and the width of the class mural,
so you can easily find the perimeter.

We know that the area of a parallelogram is the base * the height of it, so if we divide both sides by the height, then area/height=base. Therefore, we must divide the area by the height. To divide using polynomials, we first set it up similar to a regular long division problem:

        ______________________

2x+3 | 2x²+13x+15

Next, we take the first component of the numerator (2x² in this case) and divide it by the first component of the denominator (2x) to get x. That will form the start of our answer, and at the bottom, we will subtract our numerator by the denominator (2x+3) multiplied by the start of our answer (x). Therefore, we have

          _x_____________________

2x+3 | 2x²+13x+15

        -(2x²+3x)

        _______________

                10x+15

We then repeat the process until we finish, and whatever's left at the top is our answer. If there's something left, that's our remainder.

_x+5_____________________

2x+3 | 2x²+13x+15

        -(2x²+3x)

        _______________

                10x+15

             - (10x+15)

     _________________

Therefore, our base has a length of x+5.

Which is the best estimate of 162% of 79?

Answers

So, we know that 100% of seventy nine is seventy nine, so we just need to add the 62% amount to the 100% amount.
To find the 62% amount we will multiply 79 by 0.62.
79 x 0.62 = 48.98
And because the question says 'best estimate', we can round it. So 62% 0f 79 is about 50. And we can also round 79 to 80. So, to find our answer we have to add the two numbers together.
80 + 50 = 130
So the estimate of 162% of 79 is 130.
Hope this helps!
