The amount of rhubarb in the original recipe is 3 1/2 cups. Using what you know of whole numbers and what you know of fractions explain how you could triple that mixed number

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

10(1)/(2) cups.

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of rhubarb in the original recipe is = 3(1)/(2) cups.

                                                                             = (7)/(2) cups

Using this amount we have to triple that mixed number.

So we have to multiply this fraction by 3.

(7)/(2) × 3

= (21)/(2)

= 10(1)/(2) cups

We will get 10(1)/(2) cups when we triple the number of 3(1)/(2)

Answer 2
Answer: Well first things first is you got to turn 3 1/2 into a mixed number. All i did was multiply 3x2 and added 1 which gave me 7 so that was my numerator. And for my denominator i kept the 2. So all you got to do now is multiply the fraction by 3 and make sure you put a 1 under 3. It gives you 21/2 so just divide that since its improper.  And then your answer would be 10 1/2. Hope this helped you!

There are two connected gears. One has 60 teeth and it makes 50 complete revolutions in a minute. How many complete revolutions will the second gear complete, if it has 40 teeth?

Answers

60 teeth = 50 revolutions

40 teeth = x revolutions

To figure this out, you can multiply 60 and 50 together to get 3000, and 40 and x to get 40x.

If you solve this equation, 40x = 3000,

x = 75

Hope this helped!
