To make sure your reader remembers the point of your essay, which of the following is most important?A. The order in which you present your ideas
B. Choosing an interesting subject
C. The introduction
D. The ending

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Well, to be honest, I don't think there is an absolute answer - but i'd go for A. Let's see them one by one:

A. The order in which you present your ideas
-IF your idea is an argument, then it's very important that one thing follows from another- and for this the order is important. If the reader understands your point, then they will remember it well: this is well known: we remember the things we've "understood" better. ,. If they don't- they won't.

B. Choosing an interesting subject - no, i think this is in any case not a good option

C. The introduction - if your reader can choose whether or not to read your work, then this might very well be the decisive point, (they simply won't read it if this part is bad!) but let's assume that they have to read it. then it's not as important as the order.

D. The ending- well, there is also the recency effect: we remember best what came at the end. So if you don't have an argument, but let's say, the claim - this might be more relevant.

In general, I would go for A, but I think it depends on the text

Which stanza structure does Emily Dickinson use in this excerpt from “Hope Is the Thing with Feathers”?Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

Answer:

  • In this excerpt Emily Dickinson uses quatrain stanza structure.

Explanation:

In this literary device each stanza has exactly 4 lines. Lines in quatrain can be any length and with any meter, yet there is typically a customary beat to the lines too. There are instances of quatrains from Ancient Greece and China to Renaissance England and Iran to contemporary writing.

These two stanzas are quatrains which means that they are stanzas with 4 verses. The verses' meter alternates between a tetrameter and a trimeter, starting with a tetrameter.  The second stanza also rhymes with an ABAB pattern.

How does dally Winston die in the outsiders ?

Answers

When Johnny passed away from his serious injuries, Dally lost control and robbed a store. He really wasn't sure if he wanted to take it that far, but he realized that he had lost the only person he loved. After he robbed the store, the police were immediately after him. He called up the gang to come witness his death. Once the police caught up to him in the park, he pulled out his unloaded gun and pretended to shoot at the police, as a reaction the police immediately fired at Dallas Winston, shooting him dead to the ground, with his gang by his side.

Answer:

He was shot by the police.

Explanation:

When Johnny died, Dally couldn't take it, so he robbed a grocery store. He called the gang (Pony, Darry, Soda, Two-Bit, and Steve Randall) to help him because the cops were after him. When the gang got there, they were too late. Dally was shot by the police under the street light.

To get to the store, Moria had to cross the street, walk to the corner, and to take the shortcut across the park.walk to the corner
no error
to take the shortcut
Moria had to
cross the street

Answers

Answer: The error is in "to take the shortcut".

Explanation:

In the sentence "To get to the store, Moria had to cross the street, walk to the corner, and to take the shortcut across the park" we have the preposition "to" after the verb "had". The preposition already refers to each and every element that is mentioned after it, so there is no need to repeat it. It refers to "cross the street", "walk to the corner", and "take the shortcut across the park" as well.

In order to make the sentence grammatically correct, all we have to do is eliminate the preposition "to" that was repeated right before "take the shortcut across the park."

Thus, the correct form is:

To get to the store, Moria had to cross the street, walk to the corner, and take the shortcut across the park.

Well "and to take the shortcut" just doesnt sound right, the rest is fine..
