How does the volume of a prism change if each dimension of the prism is doubled?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: The prism has 3 dimensions. So, if you double the linear sizes ("dimensions") the volume is multiplied by 2^3=8.
Answer 2
Answer: Correct!

V = A*h;
A ---> (2*2)A;
h ---> 2h;

V ---> (2*2*2)V = 8V.

At a Carnival, food tickets cost $2 each and ride cost $3 each. A total of $1,240 was collected at the carnival. The number of food tickets sold was 10 less than twice the number of ride tickets sold.

Question:

At a carnival, food tickets cost $2 each and ride tickets cost $3 each. A total of $1,240 was collected at the carnival. The number of food tickets sold was 10 less than twice the number of ride tickets sold.

How many of each type of ticket were sold?

Answer:

350 food tickets and 180 ride tickets were sold

Solution:

Let "x" be the number of food tickets sold

Let "y" be the number of ride tickets sold

Cost of 1 food ticket = $ 2

Cost of 1 ride ticket = $ 3

The number of food tickets sold was 10 less than twice the number of ride tickets sold

Number of food tickets sold = twice the number of ride tickets sold - 10

x = 2y - 10 -------- eqn 1

A total of $1,240 was collected at the carnival

Therefore, we frame a equation as:

number of food tickets sold x Cost of 1 food ticket + number of ride tickets sold x Cost of 1 ride ticket = 1240

x * 2 + y * 3 = 1240

2x + 3y = 1240 ------- eqn 2

Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2

Substitute eqn 1 in eqn 2

2(2y - 10) + 3y = 1240

4y - 20 + 3y = 1240

7y = 1260

y = 180

Substitute y = 180 in eqn 1

x = 2(180) - 10

x = 360 - 10

x = 350

Thus 350 food tickets and 180 ride tickets were sold

(please help.. it's urgent. thanks <3)

Answers

The higher value of X is associated with a lower value of Y so this is a negative association. It is also a nonlinear association because the ratio of change is not constant. For example X changes from 1 to 2, Y changes from 120 to 115 opposed to X changes from 5 to 6 while Y changes from 89 to 40.

An American football team is on their own 35-yard line they lose 5 yards on each of the next three plays at what yard are they now

Answers

If they lose 5 yards on each of the three plays, that would be -15.  35 - 15 will give you 20 (unless they are on the opposite side, which then will give you 50 yards).
Dang, those must've been horrible plays.
the answer is 5×3-35 would be 5x3=15 35 -15=20

$99 cd player 5% tax

Answers

5% tax

tax = 5% of 99

     = 0.05 * 99

tax     = $4.95

Total  = $99 + $4.95 = $103.95

$103.95 will be paid for it.

Hope this explains it.
Here, Price of CD Player = $99
Tax = 5%

Tax amount = 99 × 0.05 = $4.95

Price after tax would be: = $99 + $4.95 = $103.95

So,           In short Tax amount = $4.95
Amount of CD Player after tax = $103.95

Hope this helps!
