How are the overexertion of muscles and the formation of lactic acid connected?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

During intense exertion or activity involving the muscles, there arises a need for a sudden short term burst of energy. This need for energy is so demanding that it cannot be satisfied through the normal mechanism  whereby energy is supplied through aerobic respiration using oxygen.

Therefore the muscle cells must rely on other mechanisms that do not rely on oxygen to fuel muscle contraction and this is where they resort to anaerobic respiration which uses pyruvate to play the role of oxygen as the final electron acceptor. In the process, pyruvate accepts an electron and is reduced to lactic acid in the muscle tissues.

Explanation:

Answer:

Electrical energy is defined as the energy flowing through a device due to the flow of electrons or charges from one point to another.

The energy present within an object or material due to the sum of its motion and potential energy is known as mechanical energy.

Thermal energy is defined as the energy present within an object because of the motion of its particles.

So, when we plug in and turn on a hair dryer then electrical energy starts to flow. As a result, some of its molecules will gain kinetic energy and some will have potential energy.

Hence, its sum will lead to formation of a mechanical energy. Since, this mechanical energy gets converted into thermal energy due to which hairs get dry.

Thus, we can conclude that the energy transformation that occurs when a hair dryer is plugged in and turned on is that electrical energy transforms into mechanical and thermal energy.

Which property is demonstrated when you see beads of water on a waxed car hood?

Answers

The property of water that is demonstrated when you see beads of water on a waxed car hood is adhesion.

What are the properties of water?

The properties of water are as follows:

  • It is polar in nature.
  • It has a high heat of vaporization and high specific heat.
  • Its solid form is less dense as compared to its liquid form.
  • It illustrates other properties like cohesion and adhesion.
  • It acts as a universal solvent.

The molecules of water possess a specific property which is known as adhesion. This property of water makes its molecule associated or bound to other water molecules in order to construct a bead of water.

This property of water is also seen when domestic utensils are attached to one another with extremely high intensity.

Therefore, the property of water that is demonstrated when you see beads of water on a waxed car hood is adhesion.

Where are proteins made

Answers

Proteins are made in Ribosome

The synthesis of protein is carried out in the ribosome. Whenever a cell requires manufacturing protein, mRNA is produced in the nucleus of the cell through the process of transcription. This mRNA is then transferred to the ribosome where the two subunits of ribosome (60-S and 40-S) come together and combine with m-RNA to produce protein.

In the process of protein synthesis, t-RNA connects with the ribosome and pulls out one amino acid from the m-RNA. After this t-RNA is released back so that it can attach with another amino acid. In this way ribosome build long chain of polypeptide.

Protein synthesis occurs in the ribosomes, which are in the cytoplasm of a cell

What information MUST follow the quotation if a quotation within a sentence does not name the author of the quotation?A) title, publisher, page number

C) title, page number where quote appears
D) author's last name, page number where quote appears

Answers

Author's last name, page number where quote appears information MUST follow the quotation if a quotation within a sentence does not name the author of the quotation. Thus option D is correct.

What is quotation ?

A quotation is nothing but the repetition of a sentence, phrase, or passage from speech or text, is the representation of an utterance which means something that a speaker actually said is introduced by a quotative marker.

For example, John said: “I saw Mary today” where  oral speech are signaled by addition to quotative markers. In written form the quotations are signaled by quotation marks.

It is also used to present well-known statement  that are explicitly attributed by citation to their original source; it can be used as a literary device to present someone’s point of view.

Quotations are used to illuminate the meaning of the arguments of the work and support it. It also printed as a means of inspiration and philosophical thoughts from the reader.
